How long does Order of the Sinking Star take to finish?
The official FAQ says the game offers “more than 500 hours” for its most dedicated puzzle solvers. Thekla, Inc. describes an expansive narrative adventure with more than 1,000 interconnected, hand-crafted puzzles across four distinct worlds. The 500-hour figure communicates the scale available to highly committed players; it is not a published estimate for finishing the main story or reaching an ending.
Other official descriptions use the broader phrase “hundreds of hours of gameplay.” Arc Games used that wording in its December 12, 2025 announcement, and a July 2026 PlayStation Blog hands-on report likewise described hundreds of hours and more than a thousand puzzles. These are descriptions of expected content scale, not measured average completion times.
The official materials reviewed do not give a typical playthrough duration or a separate story-only estimate. A demo session is not a reliable measure of the full game’s length, either: the PlayStation Blog report noted that its demo did not include a fourth area.

Can you save progress between sessions?
As of October 7, 2026, the official pre-launch material reviewed does not explain the full game’s saving system. It does not specify whether the game saves automatically, offers manual saves, or how often progress is recorded. Those details should not be assumed.
The publisher has confirmed one related feature: progress from the demo carries over to the launch version on Steam. That confirms demo-to-game continuity on Steam, but it does not establish the full game’s save controls or behavior, cloud synchronization, or whether saving works the same way on every platform.

The publisher’s August 18, 2026 announcement schedules Order of the Sinking Star for October 8, 2026 on PC via Steam and Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. The save-system details above reflect official information available before that scheduled launch; the cited announcement does not provide them.
