What’s actually slowing this PC down?

To screenshot an entire webpage—not just the part currently on screen—use your browser’s full-page capture feature. Firefox has the simplest built-in route; Chrome uses DevTools, and Edge’s Screenshot or Web Capture control may vary by version. Here are four methods, including two Firefox options, with steps for saving or copying the result.
What counts as a full-page screenshot?
A full-page screenshot captures webpage content beyond the visible browser window, producing one image of the page rather than a capture of only the current viewport. The available controls and results can vary by browser version and by page.
1. Capture a full page in Chrome with DevTools
- Open the webpage in Chrome.
- Open DevTools: press Ctrl+Shift+I on Windows or Linux, or Command+Option+I on Mac.
- Open the Command Menu with Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+P on Mac.
- Type screenshot and choose the full-page capture command, commonly labeled Capture full size screenshot.
- Chrome saves the screenshot as an image file, typically in your normal downloads location.
DevTools is included with Chrome, so this method does not require an extension. Chrome’s documented command names and interface can change; if the exact label differs, search the Command Menu for “screenshot.” Chrome documents the Command Menu and full-page screenshot techniques.
2. Use Firefox’s Take Screenshot interface
- Open the page in Firefox.
- Right-click an empty area of the page, or Control-click on Mac, and choose Take Screenshot. Alternatively, press Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on Mac.
- Select Save full page.
- Choose Download to save a PNG, or Copy to put it on your clipboard.
Use Save visible instead if you only want the current viewport. Firefox’s Take Screenshots help page documents the controls and output choices; it was updated shortly before October 3, 2026, and lists Firefox versions through 154.

3. Use Firefox DevTools for more capture control
Enable the screenshot button
- Open Firefox DevTools and select its settings.
- Under Available Toolbox Buttons, enable Take a screenshot of the entire page.
- Select the screenshot button in the DevTools toolbar to capture the page.
Use the Web Console helper
Open the Web Console and enter:
:screenshot --fullpage
Firefox’s screenshot helper also supports options such as a delay, filename, clipboard output, and device-pixel ratio. Use these when you need more control than the regular page menu provides. See Mozilla’s Web Console helper documentation for the available options and syntax.
4. Capture a full page in Microsoft Edge
- Open the webpage in Edge.
- Open the three-dot menu and look for Screenshot or Web Capture. Edge may also provide a screenshot keyboard shortcut; check the current menu or Edge help for the shortcut available in your version.
- Choose Capture full page, if the option is offered, and save the result.
Edge’s menu name and full-page capture availability have changed in reports from different versions. The steps are based on Microsoft-hosted community discussions rather than stable official product documentation, so the current menu on your device is the best guide. If you do not see a full-page option, use one of the documented Chrome or Firefox methods instead. Microsoft community answers about Edge Web Capture reflect the reported label and availability differences.

Safari on Mac: what is established
Apple’s Mac screenshot instructions cover capturing the entire screen, a window, or a selected portion. They do not establish a native Safari feature for saving a full webpage as one image. Safari’s PDF export is a different output, not a full-page screenshot. For an image capture, use one of the verified browser methods above. Apple’s Mac screenshot guide describes its documented capture options.
Troubleshooting full-page captures
- The image shows only what was visible: choose a command or option explicitly labeled full page, full size, or entire page—not a viewport or visible-area capture.
- You cannot find the control: in Chrome, search the DevTools Command Menu for “screenshot.” In Firefox, try the page’s right-click menu or its documented shortcut. In Edge, look for either Screenshot or Web Capture; names and availability can differ.
- The page is incomplete or looks different: capture results can depend on the page and browser version. Try again after the page has finished loading. If Edge’s full-page result is inconsistent or the option is absent, use Firefox or Chrome’s documented workflow.
- You need to paste the image elsewhere: Firefox’s Take Screenshot interface offers Copy as well as Download.
Or skip the browser setup
If you need screenshots from code rather than a browser interface, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request can return a screenshot or PDF. Its clean-shot options accept cookie or consent banners like a visitor and remove 60+ known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and the response identifies the page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server provides screenshot tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. Free includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.
