If it is installed, these 10 tips can help you make better use of its customization, assistance, creative, and privacy features. Availability and behavior depend on your device, carrier, region, language, network, and settings, so a feature listed here may not appear on every Galaxy.
Personalize the parts of One UI you use most
1. Make the Quick Panel fit your habits
One UI 9 adds more ways to customize the Quick Panel, including options involving brightness, volume, media-player sizing, and separating controls. Open the panel and explore its edit controls; the exact choices depend on your device and software version. Samsung’s One UI 9 feature FAQ describes the expanded customization.
2. Put useful information on a Galaxy Z Flip8 cover screen
On the Galaxy Z Flip8, you can edit the FlexWindow app screen, widgets, and Quick Panel without unfolding the phone. Samsung also lists Health and Reminder widgets among new lock-screen preset options. This is a Flip8-specific example, not a promise that other Galaxy models have the same cover-screen tools.
3. Make Now Brief more personal
Now Brief can show editable or generated cards for topics such as health, weather, and video, with layouts tailored to the user. A Samsung Account and consent to relevant data use may be required. Generated content is not guaranteed to be accurate, so verify anything important in its original app or source.

4. Let Now Nudge suggest a next step
Now Nudge can offer contextual suggestions in more places, including conversations—for example, surfacing reservation details or offering to save a shared location. Turn on auto suggestions to use the feature; location permission is needed for location-related suggestions. Samsung says Now Nudge supports 16 languages, but that does not mean every feature works in every language or that every language is preinstalled. See Samsung’s feature details for current availability information.
5. Follow translated conversations with Interpreter Thread View
Thread View lets you refer back to earlier translated exchanges instead of treating each line as isolated. Interpreter’s Conversation Mode can also play translations through compatible Galaxy Buds4 Pro, Buds4, Buds3 Pro, or Buds3; earbuds are optional. Language packs or an account may be needed, and translation quality and availability can vary by language and conditions.

Use Galaxy AI for creative work
6. Reframe a video around one person with My FanCam
- Open Gallery and select a video.
- Tap the Galaxy AI icon.
- Choose a detected person to reframe the clip around them.
Samsung says My FanCam requires a Samsung Account. The video must contain a trackable subject, and results can vary; do not expect flawless tracking in every clip.
7. Ask Photo Assist for an edit by voice
Photo Assist accepts spoken prompts for image edits, so you can describe a change rather than only manipulating controls. Samsung lists support for 41 languages, but language support, availability, account requirements, and network conditions can differ by feature and device. An edited image may carry a visible AI watermark, and saved output can be resized. Check Samsung’s One UI 9 FAQ for the relevant limits.

9. Read Voice Recorder summaries and Security Brief
Voice Recorder summaries organize material with headings and tables, making a long recording easier to scan. Security Brief in Now Brief can surface alerts about issues such as malware, apps from unknown sources, or unnecessary permissions. Treat an alert as a prompt to inspect the relevant settings, not as proof that every problem has been detected.

10. Check Privacy Alerts and your update status
Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to flag potential risks, such as unnecessary attempts to access permissions in the background. Samsung cautions that alerts may not account for every relevant factor, so review the app and permission involved before deciding what to change. To check for One UI 9, go to Settings > Software update > Check for updates. Samsung said rollout expansion to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, S26+, and S26 began on September 16, 2026, after the update debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8, and Z Flip8. That dated announcement is not a guarantee of availability for a particular device or carrier today; rollout timing and eligible models vary. See Samsung’s rollout announcement and update instructions.
