What was Zephyr Developer Summit 2022?
The Zephyr Project announced its second annual Developer Summit for June 8–9, 2022, at the Computer History Museum, with an “Intro to Zephyr Day” on June 7. The event was described as in-person with a virtual element, aimed at Zephyr developers, and included a refereed track and mini-conferences. The organizer framed the summit as a place for developers to gather and discuss emerging technologies.
In its September 6, 2022 recap, the Zephyr Project reported more than 380 registrations, four tracks, two mini-conferences, two tutorials, 54 sessions and 58 speakers. How much did sponsorship cost?
The prospectus published the following prices for the 2022 packages. Its stated sales deadline was April 29, 2022; these figures describe that event’s historical offers, not current rates.

For a company comparing the historical tiers, membership eligibility was a key distinction: Diamond was listed only for members, while the other three tiers had both member and non-member prices. What did the main sponsorship packages include?
Across tiers, the prospectus listed recognition on the event homepage and keynote thank-you slides, an exhibit booth with a six-foot tabletop and two chairs, a lead retrieval device, and post-event data reporting. The number of sponsor passes varied by tier:

The prospectus also offered a 20% discount on additional passes. Higher tiers added more marketing, email, speaking and attendee-engagement opportunities. Diamond and Platinum were eligible for specified project blog, press, news release, email, webinar and keynote or speaking benefits. Gold included a conference-session or birds-of-a-feather opportunity. Specific benefits were subject to the prospectus’s terms and approval conditions, so the package description should not be read as a guarantee of every placement.
What separate sponsorship placements were available?
The prospectus also listed specialty placements with separate prices. These prices and availability applied to the 2022 event only.

These options let sponsors associate their names with event materials, hospitality, or streaming rather than buying only a main tier. A company evaluating them would need to weigh the placement’s visibility against availability and any venue or approval conditions.
Who sponsored the summit?
The Zephyr Project’s February 2022 announcement named Google and Intel as Diamond sponsors, Nordic Semiconductor as Platinum, NXP as Gold, and Golioth as Silver. This is the organizer’s historical roster for that summit, not evidence of current partnerships or sponsorships.

Nordic Semiconductor’s event page describes a concrete developer-hardware demonstration: it gave away nRF52840 Dongles for Zephyr development, showed an nRF5340 Audio DK at its exhibit tabletop, and described building and flashing a Zephyr sample on the dongle.
