If your YouTube 24/7 stream keeps stopping on Tata Play Fiber, first test the streaming computer on a direct Ethernet connection and compare the result with YouTube Live Control Room health messages and your encoder logs. This helps distinguish Wi-Fi trouble from unstable upload capacity, an encoder or ingestion error, or a provider-line issue. The available guidance does not establish that Tata Play Fiber requires a special router setting for livestreaming.
Why does my YouTube livestream keep stopping?
“Stops” can describe different failures, and the fix depends on which one you see. Note the exact time of an interruption and identify what happened:
- The encoder disconnects or reports dropped frames: check its connection and output logs around the failure time.
- The YouTube event ends: check the event in Live Control Room and the encoder’s status to see whether the encoder stopped sending.
- The stream stays live but freezes or buffers: investigate upload stability and the stream-health messages; if possible, check whether more than one viewer sees the same problem.
- Only one viewer loses playback: that alone does not show that the stream or Tata Play Fiber connection stopped. Compare with another viewer and the event’s health status.
YouTube Live Control Room health messages include timestamps. Compare those with the time of the viewer-visible problem and the encoder logs. This is a way to narrow down the fault, not a remote diagnosis: an interruption can originate with the encoder, the connection, or YouTube’s ingestion.

- Connect directly: connect the streaming computer to the Tata Play Fiber router with an Ethernet cable. Tata Play Fiber recommends a direct LAN connection for an accurate speed test.
- Reduce competing traffic: pause cloud backups, large downloads, other streams, and unnecessary network use. If practical, disconnect devices that are not needed during the check.
- Measure upload more than once: run tests at several times, including when the stream normally fails. Record each result and its time. A single speed test cannot establish that a connection will remain stable for a continuous stream.
- Compare wired with Wi-Fi: if you can, repeat the checks over Wi-Fi under similar conditions. Note whether the wired connection is steady while Wi-Fi upload varies, or whether both connections show problems.
- Keep a failure log: record disconnections, test results, encoder messages, and the corresponding YouTube health errors with timestamps.
Tata Play Fiber says Wi-Fi can be affected by distance, walls, interference, and congestion, while LAN provides a more stable connection. If Ethernet is steady but Wi-Fi dips, try placing the router centrally and in an elevated position, reducing distance and obstructions where practical, and keeping it away from large metal objects or common sources of interference. The provider describes its Smart Router as dual-band, with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi; choosing a band alone is not a guaranteed fix.

Is my upload speed stable enough for a 24/7 stream?
Judge the stream against available upload capacity, not the download headline on your internet plan. YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload headroom. Apply that margin to the stable upload you actually observe during the stream, not just the package’s advertised rate. Include audio and any second outbound stream in the total. If household traffic leaves too little headroom, reduce competing use or lower the stream’s bitrate or resolution.
YouTube’s encoder guidance lists these H.264 video bitrate points; they are configuration guidance, not a guarantee that a particular connection can sustain them. The source page does not state a publication year.

| Output | Recommended H.264 video bitrate | Minimum H.264 video bitrate |
|---|---|---|
| 1080p at 30 fps | 14 Mbps | 5 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 17 Mbps | 6 Mbps |
| 720p at 30 fps | 8 Mbps | 3 Mbps |
| 720p at 60 fps | 8 Mbps | 3 Mbps |
These figures are for H.264. YouTube’s recommended values differ for AV1 and H.265; for example, the recommendations for 1080p are 10 Mbps at 30 fps and 12 Mbps at 60 fps. Use the guidance for the codec, resolution, and frame rate you actually send, and leave the recommended headroom on top of total outbound traffic.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteWhich encoder settings should I check?
For YouTube’s RTMP/RTMPS encoder guidance, use constant bitrate (CBR), check that the selected codec and audio configuration are supported, and set a 2-second keyframe interval. YouTube says not to exceed 4 seconds. Match resolution, frame rate, and bitrate to both the encoder’s output and the upload capacity measured over Ethernet. If the connection cannot sustain the chosen output with headroom, lower the bitrate or resolution and test again.

Test a changed configuration before relying on it for a long-running stream. YouTube recommends testing before an event. If you are setting up YouTube Live for the first time, enabling live streaming can take up to 24 hours; that setup delay is different from an intermittent failure on a stream that has already worked.
How do I tell a Tata Play Fiber issue from an encoder or YouTube error?
- Check the encoder first: note whether it reports a lost connection, output interruption, or other error at the failure time. YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance also recommends checking that the encoder is current and reviewing output and CPU load where relevant.
- Check YouTube’s health messages: open the event in Live Control Room and compare timestamped errors with the encoder log. Incorrect bitrate, format, codec, or audio configuration can cause ingestion errors, so a YouTube warning is not automatically proof of an ISP fault.
- Compare against the wired test: if encoder output looks healthy but the Ethernet connection or upload results are unstable at the same time, the network path deserves attention. YouTube advises contacting the ISP when outbound connection testing points to an internet problem.
- Repeat under the conditions that trigger it: compare results at the usual failure time and with household traffic reduced. This can reveal whether the issue tracks Wi-Fi, time of day, or competing network use.
Should I change a Tata Play Fiber router setting?
Start with reversible checks: use Ethernet, inspect the cable connections, restart the router, and compare wired and Wi-Fi results. Tata Play Fiber’s published guidance supports these basic checks and escalation when the problem persists. It does not establish that port forwarding, custom DNS, MTU changes, bridge mode, firewall changes, or another undocumented advanced setting is required to keep a YouTube stream running. Avoid changing those settings as a first response.

If wired upload remains unstable or the line disconnects, save the timestamps and results and contact Tata Play Fiber support through its app or customer service. Its FAQ lists 1800 120 7777 as a support number; contact procedures can change, so check the provider’s current support options if that number does not work. Share the plan, router model if visible, wired upload results and test times, whether the line disconnected, and relevant YouTube health errors. Do not assume that buying a different router or upgrading the plan will fix the issue unless a wired test or the provider’s diagnosis supports that choice.
