Yahoo has not confirmed the scope of that rollout in the sources available, so the changes should not be assumed to appear for every user.
What changed on Yahoo’s homepage?
Search Engine Watch reported on October 5, 2026 that Yahoo’s homepage now has a dedicated button leading to Yahoo Scout. The publication also reported seeing product recommendations in Scout results for ecommerce-related queries. Its account is based on its own observation and screenshots, rather than a quoted Yahoo announcement. Read Search Engine Watch’s report.
The button is an entry point to Scout. It is not the same as MyScout, Yahoo’s customizable homepage experience inside Scout. Yahoo announced MyScout in March 2026, describing a page where users can add topic and Yahoo-service tiles. Yahoo’s MyScout announcement.
What is Yahoo Scout?
Yahoo introduced Scout in January 2026 as a beta AI answer engine. Yahoo says it draws on the open web, Yahoo data, and Yahoo content, and presents answers with sources. The company also described Yahoo Shopping, powered by Scout, as a product research and comparison experience that distills information from expert articles and user discussions and provides shoppable links. Yahoo’s launch announcement attributes the following scale figures to its internal data: 500 million user profiles, a knowledge graph spanning more than 1 billion entities, and 18 trillion consumer events annually. These are Yahoo’s company-provided claims, not independently verified measures. The same release reports that a February 2026 Morning Consult survey of U.S. adults found more than 75% considered it important for AI search tools to show original sources; that is a survey result reported by Yahoo. Does Yahoo Scout recommend products?
Search Engine Watch reported seeing recommendations for ecommerce-related searches, adding a visible product-discovery element to Scout’s broader answer experience. Yahoo had already described Scout-powered Yahoo Shopping as a way to research and compare products with shoppable links; the October report describes recommendations appearing in Scout query results.

The report does not identify specific products, merchants, ranking criteria, or whether any recommendation is sponsored. Yahoo’s description of shoppable links also does not establish affiliate commissions or other commercial arrangements. Treat recommendations as a discovery feature, not as a transparent ranking or endorsement, unless Yahoo supplies those details.
How can you access Scout and MyScout?
Yahoo Help describes Scout as a beta AI search and discovery engine available on desktop and mobile web and in the Yahoo Search app for iOS and Android. Yahoo’s March announcement said Scout and MyScout beta availability was for U.S. users. These general availability notes do not establish whether the newly reported homepage button or product recommendations are visible to every user or region.
MyScout is available on desktop and in the Yahoo Search app. Yahoo Help says users can add up to 20 custom tiles from search queries. That customizable page is separate from the homepage button reported by Search Engine Watch. See Yahoo Scout Help and Yahoo MyScout Help for the relevant product guidance.
