For buyers in India, the better value depends on current prices, the memory variant and what matters most; the figures below are launch-era reports and manufacturer specifications, not live quotes or independent test results.

Performance: Redmi has the stronger reported chipset
The Redmi Turbo 5’s reported Dimensity 8500 Ultra is positioned above the P4R’s Dimensity 6300 in the hardware lineup. That makes the Redmi the more promising pick on paper for demanding games and heavier workloads, but chipset names alone do not establish how much faster one phone feels in a particular app. No controlled independent performance test is available here, so treat benchmark figures found on comparison aggregators as listings rather than verified head-to-head results.
Display: sharper reported panel or larger, faster screen?
The Redmi’s reported 6.59-inch, 1.5K AMOLED screen prioritizes resolution and panel technology, while its refresh rate is 120Hz. realme officially promotes the P4R’s 144Hz refresh rate and 1,200-nit peak brightness. Secondary listings describe a 6.8-inch 720p LCD for the P4R, but those details are not confirmed by the official specification information cited here, so verify the exact panel before buying if resolution or AMOLED is decisive.
A higher refresh-rate figure does not by itself guarantee a better overall display. Consider the trade-off between the P4R’s larger advertised screen and refresh rate and the Redmi’s reported sharper AMOLED panel; also check which refresh-rate modes apps and settings actually support.

Battery and charging: capacity is not the same as runtime
realme states an 8,000mAh battery for the P4R, compared with the Redmi Turbo 5’s reported 7,540mAh. The P4R therefore has the larger stated capacity, but capacity alone cannot show which phone lasts longer in everyday use: workload, brightness, refresh rate, mobile signal and software all affect runtime. realme’s product page includes lab-derived usage claims and cautions that actual results may vary; they are not an independent comparison between these phones.
For wired charging, the Redmi’s reported 100W rating is higher than the P4R’s official 45W rating. Those ratings do not establish a guaranteed charging time. Actual results depend on the compatible charger, temperature and charging conditions; check the regional package contents rather than assuming a charger is included.

Price difference in India: compare current prices, not launch prices
91mobiles reported regular Redmi Turbo 5 prices of ₹37,999 for 8GB/256GB and ₹40,999 for 12GB/256GB in its June 16, 2026 launch coverage. The report also described lower introductory offers, which were time-limited and should not be treated as the regular price (91mobiles launch report).
India Today listed ₹18,999 as the realme P4R launch price, but that secondary figure was not confirmed against an official realme price page (India Today listing). These launch figures suggest the phones were positioned far apart, but they do not tell you today’s price difference. Current price, stock, seller and exact retailer listings have not been verified here. Before purchase, compare the checkout price for equivalent storage, account for temporary bank or exchange offers, and check seller and warranty details.

Durability, cameras and software support
Durability ratings
The Redmi’s reported IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings differ from the P4R’s officially stated IP65 rating and MIL-STD-810H shock-resistance certification. Ratings describe specified test conditions; they do not guarantee a phone will survive every spill, drop or impact, and accidental damage may not be covered by warranty.
Cameras
The Redmi launch report lists a 50MP + 8MP rear-camera setup. The official P4R information cited here does not establish a full camera specification, and secondary listings vary, so there is not enough reliable information for a detailed camera winner or sensor-by-sensor comparison. Megapixel counts alone would not settle image quality in any case.

Software and updates
The reported software versions are HyperOS 3 for the Redmi and realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16 for the P4R. A comparative commitment for Android-version upgrades or security updates was not established, so check each brand’s current support policy for the exact model if update longevity is a deciding factor.

Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Redmi Turbo 5 if its current price fits your budget and you prioritize the more powerful reported chipset, a sharper reported AMOLED display or the higher stated wired-charging rate.
- Consider the realme P4R if you prioritize its officially stated 8,000mAh battery and 144Hz display, and its current price is more attractive for your needs. Do not infer longer real-world battery life from capacity alone.
- Pause before deciding if camera quality, verified P4R display resolution, charging time or long-term update support is essential. Confirm those details from current official specifications and credible model-specific tests before purchase.
