The OnePlus 15R has the larger, higher-refresh-rate display and lists a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor; Redmi Turbo 5 reporting lists the larger battery and faster wired charging. The available prices do not establish a reliable current price difference, and the specifications alone cannot determine which phone is faster, lasts longer, or takes better photos.
At a glance: Redmi Turbo 5 vs OnePlus 15R
The comparison is based on different kinds of evidence: OnePlus publishes specifications for its US-listed 15R, while the Redmi Turbo 5 figures below come from India-focused reporting reproduced in Xiaomi Community material and a comparison listing. Treat the Redmi details as reported specifications, not as figures verified against an inspected official product sheet. Regional versions may differ.
| Specification | Redmi Turbo 5 | OnePlus 15R |
|---|---|---|
| Processor | MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra, reported for the India model (Xiaomi Community material) | Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, on OnePlus’s US specification page (OnePlus) |
| Display | 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED, up to 120 Hz, as reported (Xiaomi Community material) | 6.83-inch, 2800 × 1272, adaptive refresh rate up to 165 Hz (OnePlus) |
| Battery and wired charging | 7540 mAh and 100 W, as reported (Xiaomi Community material) | 7400 mAh typical and 55 W SUPERVOOC (OnePlus) |
| Rear cameras | 50 MP Sony IMX882 main camera with OIS, plus 8 MP ultrawide, as reported (Xiaomi Community material) | 50 MP Sony IMX906 main camera with OIS, plus 8 MP ultrawide (OnePlus) |
| Software and memory/storage | Not stated in the cited Redmi reporting used for this comparison. | OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16; 12 GB LPDDR5X Ultra memory; 256 GB or 512 GB UFS 4.1 storage on the listed US model (OnePlus) |
| Front camera and other listed features | Not stated in the cited Redmi reporting used for this comparison. | 32 MP front camera, eSIM support, and 4K video capture options on the listed US model (OnePlus) |
Which phone has the better display?
On the published figures, the OnePlus 15R has the larger screen: 6.83 inches versus the Redmi Turbo 5’s reported 6.59 inches. It also lists a higher maximum refresh rate, up to 165 Hz compared with the reported 120 Hz on the Redmi. A higher refresh rate can make supported content and interactions look smoother, but the maximum is not a guarantee that every app or game runs at that rate. OnePlus gives a resolution of 2800 × 1272; the Redmi reporting describes its panel as 1.5K.
Choose based on the viewing experience you want as well as the numbers. The OnePlus offers more screen area; the Redmi’s smaller reported size may suit someone who prefers a more compact phone. The listed refresh-rate ceiling alone does not establish overall display quality.

Which has the faster processor?
The OnePlus 15R’s US specification page names the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, while India-focused Redmi Turbo 5 reporting identifies the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra. These are chipset names, not a head-to-head performance result. No comparable benchmark or real-world test is established by the cited material, so it is not enough to claim that one phone is faster in gaming, everyday use, or sustained workloads.
For the OnePlus, the same US page specifies 12 GB of LPDDR5X Ultra memory and UFS 4.1 storage options of 256 GB and 512 GB. The cited Redmi reporting does not provide a directly comparable memory and storage configuration here. Check the exact regional listing for the configuration you plan to buy.

Which has the bigger battery and faster charging?
Redmi Turbo 5 reporting lists a 7540 mAh battery and 100 W wired charging. OnePlus lists a 7400 mAh typical battery and 55 W SUPERVOOC charging for the 15R. On those stated figures, Redmi has the larger reported capacity and higher charging wattage.
Capacity and wattage do not determine actual battery life or charging time by themselves. Screen use, software, network conditions, charger compatibility, and other factors affect results. The cited material does not provide comparable endurance or charging tests, so it does not establish which phone lasts longer or reaches a full charge sooner.

How do their cameras compare?
Both reported configurations pair a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8 MP ultrawide camera. The named main sensors differ: Sony IMX882 for the Redmi, as reported, and Sony IMX906 for the OnePlus, according to its specification page. Those labels and megapixel counts do not establish which camera produces better photos or video; no comparable camera test is available here.
The OnePlus US specification page also lists a 32 MP front camera and 4K video capture options. The cited Redmi reporting does not give a directly comparable front-camera or video specification, so a like-for-like comparison on those features is not established.

What is the price difference?
A 91mobiles comparison listing reports India launch prices for the Redmi Turbo 5 of ₹37,999 for 8 GB/256 GB and ₹40,999 for 12 GB/256 GB, alongside a reported June 19, 2026 launch date. These are launch-price figures, not confirmed current offers. The listing does not provide a clean, verified same-market price for the exact US OnePlus 15R model, so it cannot support a dependable current price difference.
Compare current listings in the same country before deciding. Match storage, taxes, seller, and date; also check whether a listing is an imported model. A launch price in India should not be compared directly with a US price or converted into a claim about which phone is cheaper in your market.

Check the regional model before buying
The OnePlus specifications cited here describe the US-listed 15R. Redmi details are reported for the India model; a Xiaomi Community series announcement dated January 26, 2026 said the series was scheduled to debut in China on January 29. That announcement included expected series details, which should not be substituted for final specifications of the standard Turbo 5 or treated as proof that China and India versions are identical.
Before ordering, confirm the exact model and seller listing, especially if the phone is imported. Check network bands for your carrier, local warranty coverage, software and update terms, and whether a compatible charger is included. OnePlus notes that product details can change between batches and as supply factors change, so use the current regional product page for the unit being sold.
Quick Recap
Which one should you choose?
- Consider the OnePlus 15R if you want the larger listed display, a refresh-rate ceiling up to 165 Hz, or the published US-model details for memory, storage, eSIM, and front-camera features.
- Consider the Redmi Turbo 5 if the India-reported 7540 mAh capacity and 100 W wired charging are priorities, and you can verify that the regional model, warranty, and network support suit you.
- Wait for comparable tests or verify locally if your decision depends on gaming speed, battery endurance, camera quality, or the current price in your country. The cited specifications and launch-price report do not settle those questions.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
