Which phone is faster?
The published chip specifications place the Xiaomi 17T in a higher processor tier on paper: it is listed with a Dimensity 8500 Ultra, while the Redmi uses a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. That does not by itself establish real-world speed, gaming performance, heat, or battery impact. No comparable test setup and handset software are established here, so benchmark figures should not be treated as a reliable prediction of everyday performance.
The store-listed 17T configuration also has 12 GB of RAM versus 8 GB for the listed Redmi configuration. Both have 256 GB storage in this comparison. Those are the India store configurations cited above; they should not be assumed to be the only configurations available in every country.

How do the cameras differ?
The Redmi’s 200 MP OIS main camera has the larger headline resolution, but megapixels alone do not determine detail, low-light results, or overall image quality. The 17T’s listed rear-camera set adds a 50 MP telephoto camera, giving it a dedicated zoom perspective that the Redmi’s listed main-and-ultrawide pair does not provide.
- Choose the Redmi’s camera arrangement if the high-resolution main camera is the feature you value most.
- Choose the 17T’s arrangement if a dedicated telephoto camera is more useful than a higher main-camera megapixel count.
These are comparisons of listed camera hardware, not claims about which phone takes better photos; no hands-on image test is established.

Screen size
The Redmi has a 6.83-inch display, compared with 6.59 inches on the 17T. Xiaomi lists the Redmi panel as 1.5K AMOLED with a refresh rate up to 120 Hz; comparison listings describe the 17T as 1.5K AMOLED at 120 Hz. The Redmi is the larger-screen option, while the 17T has the smaller panel.
Capacity and charging
Both phones are listed with 6,500 mAh batteries. Xiaomi specifies a 100 W in-box charger for the Redmi, while Gadgets 360 lists 67 W charging for the 17T. Xiaomi also lists a protective case in the Redmi box, so its listed package includes both the charger and case.

91mobiles reports a battery-test result of 14 hours 45 minutes for the 17T and 14 hours 12 minutes for the Redmi, a 33-minute difference in that publisher’s result. The available listing does not establish the test protocol, so these figures should not be read as a prediction of normal daily battery life.
