Which display is better on paper?
TECNO’s listed panel has the higher refresh-rate ceiling: 144Hz versus the Redmi’s reported 120Hz. A higher refresh rate can make supported motion look smoother, but the figures alone do not show how often each phone sustains its maximum rate or how the displays compare in color, outdoor visibility or power use.

TECNO specifies 2644 × 1208 resolution, Gorilla Glass 7i and brightness figures of 4500 nits peak, 1600 nits HBM and 700 nits normal. The 4500-nit peak is not the same as typical sustained brightness. The Redmi source gives a 6.83-inch screen size but does not provide a resolution or brightness figure here, so those are not a verified head-to-head comparison.
Performance: what the chipset names can and cannot tell you
91mobiles lists the Redmi with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 and TECNO with the Dimensity 7400 Ultimate. TECNO’s own specification page describes its processor as a 4nm, octa-core 5G chip running up to 2.6GHz. No controlled head-to-head benchmark or sustained gaming test is available in these cited materials, so chipset labels do not prove which phone is faster in everyday use, runs cooler, or holds performance longer.

Camera hardware: megapixels are not a quality verdict
The Redmi is reported with a 200MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide. TECNO lists a 50MP OIS main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 13MP selfie camera. Optical image stabilization is explicitly specified for TECNO’s main camera; the cited material does not establish equivalent Redmi stabilization details. Resolution alone cannot determine photo quality, and the available sources do not provide matched camera samples or testing across lighting conditions.
Battery capacity and charging
Both phones are reported with 6500mAh batteries. Capacity does not establish equal runtime: screen settings, software, network conditions and workload all affect endurance. TECNO specifies 45W charging over USB-C; the cited Redmi review does not give a charging rate, and there is no matched charging-time test.

Storage and memory configurations
TECNO lists the POVA 8 Pro 5G in 256GB and 512GB storage options, with 8GB or 12GB of physical RAM. Its additional “extended RAM” is a software memory feature, not extra physical RAM, so it should not be treated as equivalent when comparing configurations. Digital Camera World reports UK Redmi launch configurations of 256GB and 512GB, but the cited material does not establish their RAM pairings.

In its comparison listing accessed in 2026, 91mobiles showed ₹39,999 for the Redmi at Amazon and ₹49,999 for the POVA at Flipkart. These are separate retailer entries; configuration, offers, stock and timing can change the figures. The ₹10,000 arithmetic difference is therefore not a current, same-retailer price comparison.

For a different market and time reference, Digital Camera World reported UK Redmi launch prices of £429 for 256GB and £479 for 512GB. These are launch-price reports, not current UK offers, and they cannot be compared directly with the Indian retailer listings.
Before deciding which is better value, compare the exact regional models at the same time and in the same market. Match storage and physical RAM where possible, check whether a displayed price includes an offer, and verify local warranty and software-support terms. The cited sources do not establish a matched warranty or support comparison.

Which should you choose?
- Consider the POVA 8 Pro 5G if its officially listed 144Hz AMOLED display, 45W charging, OIS main camera or stated RAM and storage combinations fit your priorities. These specifications do not by themselves establish superior real-world performance or image quality.
- Consider the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus if the reported 200MP main camera or the configuration and price available in your market are more appealing. Verify the local model’s specifications and current price before comparing it with TECNO.
- Wait for matched tests or compare in person if sustained gaming, actual battery life, camera results, software support or warranty is decisive. The cited evidence does not settle those head-to-head questions.
