The warning follows reports of totals that appeared incorrect, but Xbox has not named affected accounts or games or said when counts will settle. The change to a displayed total does not, by itself, mean an earned Mythic status has been taken away.
Why might your Mythic Achievement total change?
In an October 3, 2026 report, TrueAchievements quoted Xbox engineering lead Eden Marie warning Insiders: “During the testing period, fixes in how we calculate the total number of Mythic Achievements may cause your unlock count to change.” Xbox framed this as a possible consequence of fixing the calculation, not as confirmation that every changing count is an error.
TrueAchievements had reported that some games were not returning Mythic status in its integration and that its own Mythic total had dropped. The outlet says its Mythic data is based on Xbox data, so this is an example of the inconsistency players have noticed—not a platform-wide audit or a definitive list of affected games. Xbox has not published the number or share of players affected.
What counts as a Mythic Achievement?
Xbox introduced Mythic Achievements as an early-access feature for Xbox Insiders. Its announced rule is to complete all of a game’s original achievements. Achievements added later through DLC or updates are not required. Xbox also says that once earned, Mythic status is kept. Xbox’s announcement describes the eligibility rule and retained status.

That distinction matters: the eligibility rule is clear, while the total shown during testing may be recalculated. A changing total is not evidence on its own that you need to complete DLC achievements or repeat the original set.
What should you do if your count looks wrong?
- Check whether you have completed all original achievements for the game. Later DLC or update achievements are outside Xbox’s stated Mythic requirement.
- Allow for the possibility that the displayed total may change while Xbox adjusts its calculation. Xbox has not announced a correction timetable, so there is no stated date by which an individual count should settle.
- Keep in mind that reports of missing Mythic status in some games come from TrueAchievements’ integration and do not establish the full scope of the issue.
What Xbox has—and has not—confirmed
Xbox has confirmed that calculation fixes during the Insider testing period may change unlock counts. Its public description says earned Mythic status remains yours. The available statements do not identify a final count, specific affected accounts, a complete list of affected games, or a schedule for corrections. Xbox has also described staged Insider testing and later broader availability for achievement improvements, but has not given a specific public rollout date for Mythic Achievements.
