On a standard Featured Resonator Convene, you are guaranteed a 5-star Resonator within 80 pulls—but that first 5-star is not necessarily the featured character. It has a 50% chance to be featured; if you lose that 50/50, your next 5-star is guaranteed to be the featured Resonator. From a fresh pity count with no featured guarantee active, the documented worst case is 160 pulls. Featured-banner guarantee count carries between Featured Resonator events until you obtain a 5-star. Reverb Resonator Convene uses a separate carryover category, so check the banner type before relying on a saved count.
How pity and the featured guarantee work
There are two separate things to track on a Featured Resonator Convene: how many pulls you have made since your last 5-star, and whether your next 5-star is guaranteed to be the featured character.
- Pity: The cited Prydwen Institute guide lists a maximum of 80 pulls to a 5-star on the character event banner. Getting a 5-star resets the count.
- Featured guarantee: A 5-star has a 50% chance to be the featured Resonator. If it is not featured, the next 5-star is guaranteed to be featured.
So, 80 pulls guarantees the 5-star rarity, not necessarily the banner character. The 50/50 applies to the identity of a 5-star result; it does not mean each ordinary pull has a 50% chance to give you the featured Resonator.
How many pulls may you need?
Prydwen lists a 0.8% base 5-star rate and a 6% rate for a 4-star Resonator or Weapon. It also gives 80 pulls as the maximum to a 5-star and up to 160 pulls from a fresh counter to guarantee the featured character after losing the 50/50. These figures describe the cited character-banner guide, accessed in 2026; the 160-pull figure is a conservative maximum, not a prediction of what a player will spend or a typical result. See Prydwen Institute’s Convene system guide.
- You reach a 5-star within the banner’s 80-pull rarity guarantee.
- If that 5-star is not featured, the featured guarantee becomes active.
- You reach another 5-star, within at most 80 further pulls, and that result is guaranteed to be the featured Resonator.
The base rate is a chance, not a timetable: it does not identify which pull will succeed. The cited sources do not establish a soft-pity threshold or a per-pull probability curve, so neither should be treated as a confirmed rule here.
Does pity carry over to the next character banner?
Yes, for standard Featured Resonator Convene events. Kuro Games’ official notice says the “guarantee count is shared among all Featured Resonator Convene events” and carries over until a 5-star Resonator is obtained. A separate official Featured Resonator notice uses the same carryover rule. In practical terms, if you stop pulling before a 5-star, your accumulated count remains for a later standard Featured Resonator Convene; if you lose a 50/50, the featured guarantee remains relevant to the next 5-star. How Reverb banners differ
Reverb Resonator Convene has its own stated carryover category. In its version 3.5 Starpath Reverbs notice, Kuro Games says the guarantee count is shared among Reverb Resonator Convene events and carries to the next Reverb banner until a 5-star is obtained. The notice also states that a 5-star has a 50% chance to be the featured selectable Resonator and that at least one 4-star-or-higher item is obtained every 10 attempts. Read the official version 3.5 Starpath Reverbs notice.
Those are Reverb-to-Reverb terms. Do not assume a Reverb count and a standard Featured Resonator count are interchangeable; check the current Convene details for the banner category you are using. The character lineup and event duration named in that version 3.5 notice apply to that event, not necessarily to the current lineup.

- Open the current Convene’s in-game details and confirm whether it is a Featured Resonator Convene or a Reverb Resonator Convene.
- Record how many pulls you have made since the last 5-star in that category.
- Check whether your next 5-star is featured-guaranteed—for example, because your previous 5-star was not featured.
- Use the matching banner category’s carryover rule when estimating the maximum remaining pulls.
This keeps the rarity counter and featured status distinct and avoids carrying assumptions from one banner type to another. Banner-specific rates and terms can change, so the active in-game details are the place to confirm the current event’s rules.
