What changed in KB5043076?
Windows Installer repairs can request administrator credentials
For Windows 11 22H2, Microsoft documents a change to Windows Installer: when it repairs an application, User Account Control (UAC) prompts for credentials. This can affect automated scripts that run repairs; Microsoft says those scripts may need updating. Application owners should use the Shield icon to indicate when an operation requires full administrator access.

Microsoft also documents a registry value that can disable this prompt. The update notes do not recommend changing it as a general consumer fix, so users should not treat the registry option as a routine adjustment.
23H2 includes the 22H2 improvements
Microsoft says the 23H2 build includes the improvements listed for 22H2 and does not document additional issues specific to 23H2 in the update details.

- Multitasking is easy with 16GB of RAM
- Equipped with a blazing fast Core i5 2.00 GHz processor.
No documented visual changes
The official KB notes reviewed describe security and quality changes, but do not identify a new design or other visual changes. The “visual changes” claim in the original headline is therefore not established by Microsoft’s documentation.
Could KB5043076 affect Linux in a dual-boot setup?
Microsoft warns that Linux might fail to start on some systems configured to dual-boot Windows and Linux. The documented error refers to SBAT data verification and a security policy violation. This is a specific compatibility warning, not evidence that all dual-boot systems or Windows installations experienced a boot failure.
