What does the thinner-bezel iPad rumor say?
MacRumors reported on October 5, 2026, that Weibo leaker Instant Digital had posted that iPad bezels would become significantly narrower. MacRumors also discusses separate rumors about refreshes across the entry-level iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro families. It notes distinct reports that a future iPad mini could get OLED and slimmer bezels, and that the iPad Air is expected to adopt OLED in 2027. Those reports are context, not evidence that Instant Digital meant either model in the new bezel claim.
Is there a release date or a confirmed bezel measurement?
No. The reported post gives no release date or window, and the MacRumors article supplies no bezel measurement, screen-to-body ratio, or quantified estimate of the change. Should you buy an iPad now or wait?
This rumor alone is not a reliable reason to delay a purchase if you need a tablet now: it does not say which model may change or when. If you can wait, do so because you want more information—not because a particular iPad is confirmed to receive thinner bezels. Compare current iPads on the features that matter to you, such as size, performance, display, and price; the rumor provides no current-model specifications or prices.
For updates, look for a named model, a specific timeframe, measurable design details, or an announcement from Apple. Until then, do not assume any current iPad or particular upcoming model will get this redesign.
