No—not on the basis of the 60-day notice reported in October 2024. Qualcomm said in a later filing that Arm withdrew that notice on January 8, 2025, and said it had no current plan to terminate Qualcomm’s architecture licence, while reserving its rights during litigation. The notice is not a current 60-day countdown.
What was the 60-day notice about?
Qualcomm’s FY2026 second-quarter filing says Arm sent the notice on October 22, 2024. Arm alleged that Qualcomm had breached its Architecture License Agreement (ALA) and asserted it could terminate the agreement if the alleged breaches were not cured within 60 days. Those were Arm’s allegations, not a court finding.
As described in the filing, Arm objected to Qualcomm marketing products with CPUs that Arm said used designs, technology and code developed by Nuvia employees before Qualcomm acquired Nuvia. Arm also sought support and verification for additional products using that work, and objected to Qualcomm suing Arm. Qualcomm disputed Arm’s position. Qualcomm’s filing says Arm later withdrew the notice; it does not say the parties resolved every issue in their wider dispute.
How are the two lawsuits different?
The licensing dispute produced two separate proceedings. The first was Arm’s case against Qualcomm and Nuvia over Nuvia’s licence. The second is Qualcomm’s case against Arm over Qualcomm’s own contractual claims. A party’s allegation in either case should not be mistaken for a court finding.

| Arm v. Qualcomm and Nuvia | Arm alleged that Qualcomm and Nuvia did not meet obligations triggered by termination of Nuvia’s Arm architecture licence. Arm sought specific performance, including stopping use of and destroying technology developed under that agreement. Qualcomm denied breach and argued its own agreements covered the relevant cores and SoCs. | The district court entered final judgment for Qualcomm and Nuvia on September 30, 2025. Arm’s June 2026 filing said its appeal remained pending. |
| Qualcomm v. Arm | Qualcomm alleges Arm failed to provide contractual deliverables, improperly sought termination and publicized its notice, and failed to offer technology licences on commercially reasonable terms. These are Qualcomm’s claims, not established findings. | Qualcomm’s July 2026 filing said trial was scheduled to begin October 5, 2026. That is a scheduled date, not evidence of an outcome. |
What did the jury decide in Arm’s case?
The jury trial began December 16, 2024. On December 20, the jury found that Qualcomm had not breached Nuvia’s ALA and that Qualcomm CPUs incorporating designs acquired in the Nuvia transaction were licensed under Qualcomm’s ALA. The jury could not decide whether Nuvia had breached its own ALA.
On September 30, 2025, the district court entered final judgment upholding the jury findings, granted judgment to Nuvia and dismissed Arm’s remaining claims. Arm appealed to the Third Circuit on October 1, 2025. Because the appeal was still pending in Arm’s June 2026 filing, the district-court judgment should not be described as the end of all litigation over the case.

Qualcomm’s September 30, 2025 press release called the result a “full victory” and a “full and final judgment in Qualcomm’s favor.” That is Qualcomm’s characterization; the procedural record also includes Arm’s appeal.
What was scheduled next in Qualcomm’s separate case?
Qualcomm’s July 2026 filing says it added a claim alleging a failure to negotiate in good faith in March 2026, and that the court denied Arm’s motion to strike the amended complaint on July 14, 2026. The same filing scheduled trial to begin October 5, 2026. As of October 4, 2026, the schedule was for the following day; no result of that trial is established here. Arm’s June 2026 filing had described the case more generally as expected in the fourth calendar quarter of 2026.

Does this mean Snapdragon X Elite laptop owners need to act?
No consumer action follows from the withdrawn notice or the procedural updates described here. PCWorld’s October 2024 report identifies Oryon CPU cores as central to Snapdragon X Elite and Copilot+ PCs and connects the notice to an Arm v8 architectural licence. That makes Snapdragon X Elite laptops relevant examples of hardware using the cores discussed in the dispute; it does not establish that owners will lose support, that laptops will be withdrawn from sale, or that a purchase is urgent.
