Wiz announced its acquisition of cloud-security remediation startup Dazz on November 21, 2024. TechCrunch reported the deal was valued at $450 million in cash and shares, citing people familiar with the matter; Wiz did not disclose a price in its announcement. The deal was intended to connect cloud-risk detection more closely with the work of fixing vulnerabilities in code. Since then, Google has completed its acquisition of Wiz: on March 11, 2026, Wiz said it had officially begun its journey as a Google company.

What was announced—and was the deal really $450 million?

Wiz announced the Dazz acquisition on November 21, 2024. The $450 million valuation and cash-and-share structure were reported by TechCrunch, which cited sources familiar with the deal. The official Wiz announcement did not publish a purchase price, so $450 million should be understood as a media-reported transaction value, not a figure Wiz publicly confirmed.

Why did Wiz acquire Dazz?

Wiz presented the acquisition as a way to strengthen the link between identifying risk in cloud environments and remediating the underlying problems in applications and code. Its announcement described Dazz’s remediation engine as correlating information from multiple sources, mapping risks to root issues, and helping engineers address vulnerabilities with cloud context. The companies framed the combination as an extension of Wiz’s cloud-to-code security and application-risk remediation capabilities.

Those are the companies’ descriptions of the product rationale, not independent evidence that the combined platform produces better results. Wiz co-founder and CEO Assaf Rappaport wrote that Dazz’s engine could help security teams “correlate data from multiple sources and manage application risks in one unified platform.”

What did Dazz do?

Dazz was founded in 2021 by Merav Bahat, CEO; Tomer Schwartz, CTO; and Yuval Ofir, VP of R&D, according to the acquisition release. It offered a platform that used AI, automation, and root-cause analysis to help security and engineering teams identify, prioritize, and fix vulnerabilities.

In its November 21, 2024 acquisition press release, Wiz attributed the following growth and activity figures to Dazz:

  • 500% year-over-year ARR growth.
  • More than 8 billion vulnerabilities managed.
  • Over two billion issues resolved at root cause.

These are company-reported figures from the 2024 announcement, not independently verified measurements or current totals. The same release said more than 45% of Fortune 100 companies were Wiz customers; that, too, is a vendor-reported figure from 2024.

What happened to Wiz after the Dazz acquisition?

Google completed its acquisition of Wiz, and on March 11, 2026, Wiz said it had officially begun its journey as a Google company. Google Cloud said Wiz would retain its brand and that its products would continue supporting major cloud environments, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud Platform. The Dazz deal is therefore part of Wiz’s product history; Wiz is no longer an independent company.

What the deal means for cloud-security buyers

The acquisition announcement offers a product strategy, not a head-to-head product comparison or a buyer’s evaluation of current Dazz packaging. For organizations assessing cloud-security and remediation platforms, the rationale points to practical questions worth asking during a product evaluation:

  • Can the platform connect cloud findings to the relevant application and code context?
  • Does it map related findings to root causes, rather than presenting only a list of individual alerts?
  • How do security and engineering teams coordinate and track remediation?
  • Which cloud environments are supported today, and does that support match the organization’s architecture?

Google Cloud’s March 2026 statement specifically identifies continued support for AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud Platform. That statement describes Wiz’s multicloud support; it does not establish that every feature or workflow is identical across those environments.
