Restarting FFmpeg may have exposed an ingest problem, but it does not by itself explain why a YouTube meditation stream is unavailable specifically in India. First check whether YouTube is receiving a healthy feed in Live Control Room. If it is, investigate the event’s visibility, territorial rights and Content ID status, then compare reports from viewers on different networks. Without the exact error, stream status and rights information, timing alone cannot identify the cause.
First determine whether the stream is failing at ingest or at playback
Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room for the event the audience is trying to watch. Check whether YouTube is receiving the feed, whether the Health Indicator shows an error, and when any error appeared. A missing preview or encoder error points toward FFmpeg’s connection or output. A healthy feed with reports limited to viewers in India points instead toward availability, rights, visibility or viewer access.
Do not change FFmpeg settings just because the problem followed a restart. Use the timestamped dashboard error to decide whether the encoder branch applies. YouTube’s live-stream troubleshooting guidance also distinguishes encoder issues from viewer-device and shared-network problems.
Check FFmpeg’s destination, stream key and event
The stream URL and stream key tell the encoder where to send the feed and which YouTube stream should receive it. If the key was reset, or FFmpeg is still using stale values, copy the current URL and key from Live Control Room and update the encoder. YouTube specifically recommends copying the current key into a third-party encoder when a stream will not start; see YouTube’s stream-key troubleshooting steps.

Also confirm that FFmpeg is publishing to the same event whose watch page viewers are opening. Reused stream settings can carry over metadata, settings and a stream key, so a running FFmpeg process does not prove that the intended event is live or visible.
Use the exact ingestion error to guide FFmpeg changes
YouTube lists unsupported formats or codecs, bitrate mismatches, audio/video configuration problems and keyframe-frequency issues among possible live-stream errors. Match the dashboard’s specific message to the output before editing the command. Change the setting YouTube identifies rather than altering unrelated arguments. The relevant reference is YouTube’s live encoder settings and error guidance.

Meditation streams may rely heavily on audio, but that alone does not establish an audio fault. Use the actual Health Indicator message to determine whether the audio/video configuration is the problem.

A country-specific symptom makes territorial availability and rights worth checking, but it does not prove that a geographic block is configured. Review the event’s visibility and any territory settings, then look in Studio for copyright matches or other notices. Confirm that music and other third-party material is licensed for the relevant territory.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may interrupt or terminate a stream when a match remains. A licence alone may not prevent interruption if the rights holder has not added the channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube explains this in its copyright guidance for live streams. If a rights restriction applies, confirm the channel’s territorial rights and any required allowlisting, or remove or replace material you cannot use. Do not try to evade a regional restriction.
Check channel status and compare viewer reports
Review YouTube Studio for policy, copyright or live-stream access notices. YouTube says live-streaming ability may be turned off because of policy strikes or matches to copyrighted live broadcasts. Restarting FFmpeg cannot clear an account restriction; follow the correction or appeal route in the notice. See YouTube’s live-streaming restrictions guidance.

Ask affected viewers whether they see an explicit “unavailable” message or a loading or buffering failure, and whether they can open the stream using another device or connection. The pattern helps narrow the fault:
