A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11Short answer: iOS 26 did not remove full-page screenshots from Safari. Apple’s iPhone guide still shows a Full Page control after you capture a Safari webpage. What changed is the preview: screenshots now open in a full-screen editor by default, so the controls may look different. If the control is missing, test the documented Safari workflow first; Apple does not identify one universal bug or guaranteed fix.
What changed to screenshots in iOS 26?
In earlier iOS versions, a screenshot normally appeared as a small thumbnail in the lower-left corner. In iOS 26, the screenshot opens in a full-screen preview by default. That is a presentation change, not a documented removal of full-page capture.
Apple’s current iPhone User Guide still describes capturing content beyond the display and uses an entire webpage in Safari as its example. After opening the screenshot preview, you should be able to select Full Page, inspect more of the page, crop it, annotate it, share it, or save it.
The full-screen editor can make the option harder to spot if you are expecting the old thumbnail. It also does not guarantee that every app, document, or web view supports a scrollable capture. Apple documents Safari webpages, but does not publish a complete compatibility list.

Use Apple’s documented Safari test
Start with a normal webpage in Safari rather than an in-app browser or a third-party app. This isolates whether the problem is related to the content you are trying to capture.
- Open Safari and load a webpage that is longer than the iPhone display.
- Take a screenshot. On an iPhone with Face ID, quickly press and release the side button and volume-up button together. On an iPhone with a Home button, quickly press and release the Home button and side button together.
- Open the screenshot preview. In iOS 26 it normally occupies the whole screen. Look for the control labeled Full Page.
- Select Full Page if it is available. Drag through the preview to inspect content below the visible screen.
- Use the available editing actions. Apple documents cropping, markup, sharing, and saving from this view.
If Full Page appears in this Safari test, the original app or content type is the likely limitation. If it does not appear even for a long Safari webpage, continue with the preview-setting check below.
Restore the thumbnail preview if the new editor is confusing
You can switch back to the temporary thumbnail style. This changes how the screenshot preview is presented; Apple does not say that it enables Full Page capture.
- Open Settings.
- Tap General.
- Tap Screen Capture.
- Turn off Full-Screen Previews.
Take another Safari screenshot. A temporary thumbnail should appear at the lower-left of the screen. Tap it and check for Full Page. If the control is still absent, turning off the full-screen preview has not solved the underlying availability issue; it has only restored the older preview style.

What to check when Full Page is still missing
1. Confirm that the capture is a Safari webpage
Apple’s explicit example is an entire webpage in Safari. Use that as your diagnostic baseline before testing a message, PDF, embedded browser, or another app. The guide does not promise that the control appears in every app or for every kind of content.
2. Make sure you opened the screenshot editor
The Full Page control is part of the screenshot preview. If you dismiss the preview immediately, you will not see the editing controls. With full-screen previews enabled, the editor opens directly; with the setting disabled, tap the thumbnail before it disappears.
3. Compare the two preview modes
| Setting | What you see after taking a screenshot | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Full-Screen Previews on (iOS 26 default) | The screenshot opens in a full-screen preview. | It does not prove that Full Page is unavailable. |
| Full-Screen Previews off | A temporary thumbnail appears at the lower-left. | It does not enable Full Page in apps that do not support it. |
4. Test a different long webpage
A page with little content below the fold can make a full-page result seem pointless, while a page that loads content dynamically may not expose the same capture controls. Test a conventional, scrollable webpage in Safari and wait for its visible content to finish loading before taking the screenshot.
5. Treat isolated reports as anecdotes
An Apple Support Community discussion dated September 18, 2025 describes “Full page screenshot option missing in Safari on iPhone 14 Pro Max.” The author later said the option appeared, but did not document what changed. That report shows that the symptom can occur; it does not establish a general cause or a repeatable fix.

What Apple does—and does not—claim about the cause
Apple’s iOS 26 instructions are procedural: they explain how to open a screenshot, choose Full Page, and change the preview setting. They do not identify a universal software bug, publish an app-by-app support matrix, or provide a guaranteed workaround for a missing control.
Apple’s iOS 26 feature overview also describes Safari’s redesigned tab layout, with Compact, Bottom, and Top choices. It does not connect those layout choices to Full Page availability. Changing the tab layout therefore should not be presented as a confirmed fix.
Because there is no documented universal diagnosis, be precise about the result of your test: “Full Page appears in Safari” or “Full Page is absent in this capture.” Avoid assuming that a setting, device model, or tab layout is the cause without evidence.
Why the option can differ by app or content
A standard Safari webpage is the clearest documented case for content extending beyond the screen. Other screens may be fixed-height views, protected content, embedded web views, or interfaces that do not expose a continuous scrollable document to the screenshot editor. Apple’s guide does not enumerate all of these cases, so the safest expectation is that Full Page is available where iOS can identify a supported, vertically extending document.

If your Safari test works but the original app does not, use the app’s own export, print, or share function when you need the entire document. That is a different workflow from an iOS Full Page screenshot and may preserve selectable text better.
How to inspect and save a full-page capture
When Full Page is present, the preview lets you drag through the captured document rather than viewing only the current screen. You can crop away unwanted areas, add markup, share the result, or save it using the actions Apple provides in the editor. The exact destination depends on the save or share choice you select; the important diagnostic point is that these actions appear only after entering the screenshot preview and selecting Full Page.

If your goal is to obtain a clean webpage image for documentation, testing, or an automated workflow rather than an iPhone UI screenshot, ScreenshotNeo provides a direct website screenshot API and an MCP server for AI agents. It captures PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF from one request. Before capture, it accepts cookie or consent banners as a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each step can be disabled.
Only clean shots are billed. Bot checks and CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and each response identifies the result with X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers. Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients can use the take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools.

Plans and billing
| Plan | Included shots | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 1,000 per month | $0; no card |
| Starter | 3,000 | $5 |
| Growth | 15,000 | $15 |

Yearly billing gives two months free, and every feature is included on every plan. This is an alternative for server-side webpage captures; it does not replace an iPhone’s native screenshot editor for capturing an app screen.
Create a free ScreenshotNeo account to get 1,000 screenshots a month with no card. Bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed, and the paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does changing Safari’s Compact, Bottom, or Top tab layout restore Full Page?
Apple lists those iOS 26 tab-layout choices but does not connect them to Full Page availability, so no layout should be treated as a confirmed fix.
Is the missing Full Page control proven to affect a particular iPhone model?
No. A September 2025 Apple Support Community post mentions an iPhone 14 Pro Max, but it is one user report and does not establish model-wide behavior.
Can ScreenshotNeo capture an iPhone app screen?
No. ScreenshotNeo captures webpages and related web output from its API or MCP tools; the native iPhone screenshot editor remains the method for an on-device app screen.
