1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteA buzzing microphone is a symptom, not a diagnosis. The noise may come from a ground loop, USB power or charging noise, a faulty cable or connection, or gain-related noise. Isolate the microphone and reconnect components one at a time before buying anything; the right fix depends on which change brings the buzz back.
What the buzz can tell you
Pay attention to when the noise starts and what changes it. A hum that appears after connecting another device can point toward an interaction between connected equipment. Noise that occurs only while a USB microphone is charging suggests checking its USB and power connections. Noise that becomes prominent only when gain is very high may instead reflect the microphone and preamp combination or the interface’s noise floor. These clues help narrow the cause, but none proves it by itself.
- Changes when equipment is connected or disconnected: investigate connected-device interactions and possible ground loops.
- Occurs with a USB mic, especially while charging: check the USB cable, charging adapter, and optional peripherals.
- Persists with one cable or input but not another: suspect that cable, connector, or input.
- Gets louder as gain approaches its maximum: check whether the mic needs more clean gain than the interface provides.
How to isolate the source
- Note the conditions. Listen for whether the buzz is constant, appears only while charging, follows a particular connected device, or becomes noticeable only at high gain. Change the gain and note whether the noise changes too.
- Reduce the setup. Connect only the microphone, one cable, and the recording input. Disconnect optional audio links and peripherals.
- Swap one component at a time. Try a known-good cable, another input, or another interface, mixer, or preamp. If the noise disappears, restore the original components one by one and note when it returns.
- For a USB microphone, check USB and power. Try another USB cable if available, test without a charging adapter, and remove nonessential peripherals. RØDE notes that grounding or power noise from charging adapters can sometimes cause low buzzing or humming with USB audio devices (RØDE’s USB microphone troubleshooting guidance).
- Check the mic and gain combination. If you use a dynamic mic with a bus-powered interface and need unusually high gain, check whether the interface can provide enough clean gain. An inline preamp may help with that specific shortfall, but it is not a general-purpose cure for hum or buzz (PreSonus on microphone noise at high gain).
- Choose a remedy only after identifying the likely path. Check device manuals and connector compatibility before trying a balanced connection, DI box, or signal isolator. Keep protective electrical grounding intact.
Common causes and appropriate fixes
Ground loop or connected-device interaction
A low-frequency hum or a buzz that changes when you connect or disconnect equipment can suggest a ground loop. Disconnect optional inputs, then reconnect devices one at a time to identify which connection brings the noise back. Sennheiser recommends this isolation approach, and Roland documents a specific USB-and-audio-link setup in which multiple ground paths can result in hum; neither example means every microphone buzz has the same cause (Sennheiser’s microphone-noise guidance; Roland’s RC-202 example).
If the signal path is compatible, a suitable isolator or DI box may help with a diagnosed ground-loop or unbalanced-connection problem. Sound Devices notes that there is no definitive set of rules for resolving every ground-loop situation, so match the remedy to the actual devices and connections (Sound Devices on ground-loop audio noise).

You can control the RGB key button of the dynamic microphone USB directly for game color scheme gaming or live streaming. Configured memory function, the streaming microphone RGB no need to repeated selections after turnning off and brings itself alive when power on. (Only available for USB connection)
- [More Function Keys] Computer microphone with headphones jack upgrades your rhythm game experience and gets feedback whether the real-time voice your audience hear as expected. Get the desired level via monitoring volume control when gaming recording. Smooth mic gain knob on the PC microphone gaming has some resistance to the point, easily for audio attenuation or boost presence to less post-production audio. (Only available for USB connection)
USB power, grounding, or charging noise
With a USB mic, test the microphone directly and remove optional peripherals while troubleshooting. If the noise changes when you disconnect a charging adapter or another USB device, that connection is useful evidence. It is not a reason to assume that every USB buzz comes from a charger.
Cable, connector, or signal-chain fault
A noisy or damaged cable can sound like a microphone or interface problem. Replace it temporarily with a known-good cable, then test the mic and cable on another interface, mixer, or preamp if possible. Focusrite recommends connecting directly to the interface and testing the microphone and cable with another system while troubleshooting (Focusrite’s microphone-noise troubleshooting guide).

Great computer recording mic for gamers/streamers/youtubers focus on the main source and reduces background noise. The streaming microphone does the job well for broadcast ,OBS and teamspeak.
Gain and preamp noise
Some dynamic microphones produce a relatively weak output. If a particular dynamic mic and bus-powered interface combination requires more gain than the interface can provide cleanly, raising the gain can make background noise more apparent. An inline preamp can be relevant in that case; it will not fix a faulty cable or a ground-loop hum. PreSonus describes the recommendation as conditional on the microphone and interface combination (PreSonus’s guidance on gain and microphone noise).
Cable routing and unbalanced connections
Where the equipment supports it, use balanced connections and avoid running audio cables close to power cables. A DI box may be appropriate for some unbalanced outputs, but it must match the signal path and connectors. Balanced and unbalanced connections are not interchangeable in every setup, and changing cabling will not necessarily correct a problem elsewhere in the chain (PreSonus on noise with unbalanced outputs; Sound Devices on possible signal-path approaches).

Which remedy fits your setup?
| What you found | Remedy to consider | Important limit |
|---|---|---|
| Noise follows one cable during substitution | Replace or avoid the faulty cable; a known-good XLR cable can serve as a diagnostic substitute. | Do not assume a new cable will solve noise that remains with other cables. |
| Noise returns with a particular connected device or a suitable unbalanced signal path | Check compatibility, then consider an appropriate DI box or audio signal isolator. | These are conditional options, not universal fixes for every buzz. |
| A dynamic mic needs unusually high gain from a bus-powered interface | Check the interface’s clean-gain capability; consider an inline preamp only if there is a gain shortfall. | An inline preamp does not address unrelated hum or a cable fault. |
| Compatible equipment has balanced connections, or audio cabling runs near power cables | Use a balanced connection where supported and separate audio and power cable runs. | Balanced connections are not a drop-in replacement for every unbalanced consumer connection. |
Protective grounding is not a noise fix
Never remove a mains plug’s protective earth pin or otherwise defeat equipment safety grounding to eliminate hum. Choose a suitable signal-path remedy instead. If the noise persists or the wiring or device setup is unclear, consult the equipment manuals or a qualified technician (Sound Devices’ ground-loop guidance; Sennheiser’s troubleshooting guidance).
