If your glasses feel blurry or uncomfortable at a computer, the cause may be screen-related dryness, glare, or a lens prescription that does not suit your screen distance. Start by adjusting your setup and taking visual breaks; if blur continues, arrange an eye exam rather than assuming a screen accessory will fix it.

Why glasses can feel blurry or uncomfortable at a screen

Long periods of close screen work can cause digital eye strain, with symptoms such as temporary blur, aching, dryness, tearing, or stinging. People tend to blink less while using screens: the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) reports about 15 blinks per minute normally versus about 5 to 7 per minute during computer and other digital-screen use. Less blinking can leave the eye surface less moist. AAO guidance on computer use

Blur can also come from refractive error, not just screen habits. Myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia affect how clearly the eye focuses at different distances. The National Eye Institute (NEI) advises people who still have vision symptoms while wearing glasses or contact lenses to have an eye exam; their prescription may need reassessment. NEI guidance on refractive errors

Try these adjustments first

  1. Set a comfortable viewing distance. Place the computer screen about 25 inches (roughly arm’s length) away, with the top of the screen positioned so you look slightly downward. If your actual setup is notably closer or farther, keep that distance in mind when discussing lenses with an eye-care professional. AAO setup guidance
  2. Match the display to the room. Adjust screen brightness to the surrounding light, try increasing contrast, and move or shade lamps and windows that reflect on the display. A compatible matte screen filter is an optional way to reduce reflections; it does not correct a prescription or treat dry eyes.
  3. Blink fully and look away regularly. Make a conscious effort to blink, then use the 20-20-20 rule as a practical reminder: every 20 minutes, look at something at least 20 feet away for 20 seconds. It is a break prompt, not a medical test. AAO guidance on blue light and screen habits
  4. Consider dryness. If your eyes feel dry, AAO suggests artificial tears. If you wear contact lenses during long screen sessions, taking a break from the lenses and wearing glasses instead may help. Follow product directions and clinician advice, particularly if symptoms do not settle.
  5. Reassess the glasses if blur persists. Note how many hours you use a screen, its distance, and whether the blur affects near, intermediate, or far vision. Share those details at an eye exam and ask whether your prescription, lens type, or fit suits the task. NEI guidance on when to have an eye exam

Computer glasses and blue-light glasses are not the same

Prescription computer glasses are selected for an intermediate working distance. AAO describes the computer-screen distance for this purpose as approximately 20–26 inches from the face. Ordinary distance glasses or multifocal lenses may not provide the same clear zone for every screen setup; some people use multifocal lenses to shift among near, intermediate, and far distances. The right option depends on your prescription and how you work, so discuss your actual screen distance with an eye-care professional. AAO guidance on computer glasses

A free lens shade is included - snap it on for full immersion, off to stay present.
  • 【SONY MICRO-OLED COLOR, TUNED AT THE SOURCE】 Sony Micro-OLED panels bring streaming, videos, movies, and compatible 3D content to life with 1600 nits peak brightness and a wide 50 degree field of view. Color is calibrated in the Micro-OLED itself rather than through an extra color-management chip, so what you see stays true. Whether you are in a bedroom, dorm, hotel room, or shared apartment, VITURE Pro 2 creates a vivid personal display without needing a TV.

Blue-light-filtering glasses are a separate, generally non-prescription category. AAO says blue light from computer screens has not been shown to cause eye disease, and that several studies suggest blue-light-blocking glasses do not improve digital eye-strain symptoms. The Academy does not recommend special blue-light eyewear for computer use. They are not a substitute for prescription computer glasses. AAO guidance on blue light

When to seek an eye-care assessment

Arrange an assessment if blur continues despite your glasses, or if your eyes are consistently red, blurry, watery, sensitive to light, or painful. A screen filter or eyewear accessory cannot diagnose or correct an underlying eye condition. AAO advises seeing an ophthalmologist for these persistent or concerning symptoms.
