Larson Conway is a mercenary who works for Jacqueline Natla and becomes one of Lara Croft’s antagonists. He helps draw Lara into the search for the Scion, working alongside fellow mercenary Pierre Dupont. Official sources connect Larson to Tomb Raider (1996), Tomb Raider: Anniversary (2007), and the announced Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, scheduled for February 12, 2027.
Who is Larson in Tomb Raider?
Larson Conway is a gruff, swaggering mercenary in Natla’s employ. In the original story, his role is to contact Lara and set her on the trail of the Scion. He and Pierre Dupont work for Natla, with an ulterior plan to betray Lara.
Crystal Dynamics Game Director Raul Siqueira describes Larson as “more of a brute” who contacts Lara so she can begin searching for the Scion. The character’s confidence is part of his appeal as an antagonist: he presents himself as a capable equal, but underestimates Lara.
Larson and Lara
The relationship has a flirtatious edge in the forthcoming Legacy of Atlantis. Lara performer Alix Wilton Regan says, “Lara has a bit of a crush on Larson, and Larson has a bit of a crush on Lara.” Regan also calls him the closest thing to Lara’s equal in capability in that game, while noting that he makes mistakes. These comments describe the new version, not necessarily every portrayal of the character.
