Start with the BlackShark V3 Pro’s preset that matches what you’re doing: Game for general play, a game-specific profile for a supported shooter, Movie for films, or Music for listening. For clearer outgoing voice, first position the microphone correctly, then try its EQ presets and adjust while listening to a recording or call. Razer does not publish one numeric EQ curve or sidetone level that is best for everyone.
What EQ should I use for the BlackShark V3 Pro?
Razer lists Game, Movie, Music, and Esports presets. Choose by activity, then judge the result in the game or media you actually use; “Esports” is not automatically the best choice for every game or listener. Razer’s product page also says custom EQ is available in Razer Synapse and the Razer Audio app.

Razer describes the headset as using TriForce Bio-Cellulose 50 mm drivers. That is a product specification, not independent evidence that a particular preset or custom curve is superior.
How do I make footsteps easier to hear?
If your goal is to make footsteps stand out, try Footsteps Boost rather than assuming you need a particular EQ curve. Razer says this control works with any EQ profile. A game-specific profile is another reasonable starting point when one is available for the title you play.

Listen in the actual game and compare at a consistent volume. A profile that makes one cue more noticeable may not suit every game or your preferences, so keep the option that helps you without making the overall sound less useful to you.
Where should the BlackShark V3 Pro mic sit?
Position is the first microphone change to make: Razer’s product FAQ says, “Speak into the mic with the mic symbol facing your mouth, ensuring it is 1 inch away.” Follow that orientation and distance before changing software settings. The headset has a detachable HyperClear Full Band 12 mm microphone, according to Razer’s product specifications.

What mic EQ or sidetone setting should I use?
Microphone EQ
In Razer Synapse, open the BlackShark V3 Pro microphone controls and choose a mic EQ preset that suits your voice. Razer’s master guide says that manually changing a preset turns it into a Custom preset. It documents the control, not a universal recommended curve. Make a short recording or use an in-app voice test, adjust incrementally, and keep the version that sounds clearest to your callers.
Mic monitoring (sidetone)
Mic Monitoring lets you hear microphone audio through the headset, with an adjustable monitoring volume. Use it if hearing your own voice helps you manage speaking volume, and set the level to personal comfort. Sidetone changes what you hear locally; it is not evidence that remote listeners hear an improvement.

Razer’s published information does not establish a universally correct mic volume, voice-gate threshold, noise-reduction amount, mic EQ band curve, or sidetone target for this model. If such controls appear in your software version, make small adjustments while listening to a test recording or call instead of relying on fixed values.
Can I change EQ on the headset?
Yes. Razer says one press of the SmartSwitch button cycles through EQ presets. In the Razer Audio app or Synapse, you can also select presets and create custom EQ profiles. The control dial can be assigned to Game/Chat Balance, Mic Monitoring, or Footstep Boost.

Other controls are separate from EQ: double-tapping SmartSwitch switches among 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth, and simultaneous audio, while the ANC button cycles through ANC On, Ambient Mode, and ANC Off. These controls do not replace choosing an EQ profile.

No. Razer describes THX Spatial Audio as integrated into Synapse, and says full THX Spatial Audio 7.1.4 support requires Synapse on Windows 11 version 23H2 or later. That platform requirement is specific to the full 7.1.4 feature; it does not make THX a prerequisite for choosing a standard EQ preset or trying the headset’s other listed controls.
