PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) is an AI upscaling feature for PS5 Pro, and support is assigned game by game. Sony reported on February 27, 2026, that PSSR had been used to boost the effective resolution of over 50 PS5 Pro titles; that is a dated figure, not a current complete list. To verify a particular game, look for an explicit PSSR reference in its official feature details, developer announcement, or patch notes. The broader “PS5 Pro Enhanced” label alone does not confirm PSSR.
Which PS5 games support PSSR?
Sony’s official announcements document the following examples, but they do not provide a complete, continuously updated roster. The list below reflects announcements published between February and October 2026; check the game’s latest official update notes for its current implementation and version.
| Game | What the official announcement says | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Resident Evil Requiem | Sony described it as the first title using the upgraded PSSR announced on February 27, 2026. | Sony, February 27, 2026 |
| Assassin’s Creed Shadows | Ubisoft said the game supported original PSSR from launch; upgraded PSSR arrived with Title Update 1.1.9 on April 7, 2026. | Ubisoft update information, March 31, 2026 |
| SILENT HILL 2; SILENT HILL f; Dragon Age: The Veilguard; Control; Alan Wake 2; Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II; Final Fantasy VII Rebirth; Nioh 3; Rise of the Ronin; Monster Hunter Wilds; Dragon’s Dogma 2 | Sony’s March 16 announcement said upgraded PSSR support was coming to or had been adopted by these games. Confirm the current game version and update status rather than treating the announcement as proof of today’s installed version. | Sony, March 16, 2026 |
| Crimson Desert | Sony said upgraded PSSR would be adopted at launch. Check the game’s official current feature information for the release implementation. | Sony, March 16, 2026 |

| Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced | Ubisoft said it supports the latest PSSR on PS5 Pro. | Ubisoft, June 29, 2026 |
| F1 25 | EA and Codemasters said the 2026 Season Pack update brings the latest PSSR version. | EA/Codemasters, June 1, 2026 |
“Over 50 titles” is Sony Interactive Entertainment’s February 27, 2026 figure, not an independently verified count or a named list of every supported game. Titles can gain or change support through patches, so a dated announcement is best read as evidence for that point in time.
How to check whether a specific game supports PSSR
- Confirm the console. PSSR is a PS5 Pro technology, not a feature for the standard PS5. Sony describes it as an AI library that analyzes game images pixel by pixel as it upscales them. See Sony’s PSSR announcement.
- Search official, game-specific information. Check the game’s PlayStation product or feature page, the developer’s announcement, and patch notes. Look for “PSSR” or “PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution.” A title-specific statement is stronger evidence than a general console-enhancement badge.
- Check the relevant patch or release. Some titles began with original PSSR and later added upgraded PSSR in a game update. Assassin’s Creed Shadows is one example: Ubisoft documented original support at launch and upgraded support in Title Update 1.1.9 on April 7, 2026.
- Update the game and PS5 Pro system software. A support announcement may refer to a particular patch, so confirm that the relevant update is installed before expecting that implementation.
- Use the optional image-quality setting only after confirming support. On PS5 Pro, go to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output and check Enhance PSSR Image Quality. Sony says it can apply the new PSSR to games that already support PSSR. If unexpected visual effects appear, turn the option off and compare. Results vary by title. See Sony’s setting guidance.
Does “PS5 Pro Enhanced” mean a game supports PSSR?
No. “PS5 Pro Enhanced” is a broad label for games updated to take advantage of PS5 Pro features; it does not identify which feature a game uses. A game carrying the label may use other Pro improvements without PSSR. Verify PSSR in that game’s own official feature details or update notes. Sony introduced the label as a general Pro-enhancement designation in its September 10, 2024 PS5 Pro announcement.

Original PSSR, upgraded PSSR, and QSSR are different claims
Original and upgraded PSSR
Both are PSSR implementations for PS5 Pro. When a developer announces an upgrade, check which title update introduces it; a game’s earlier PSSR support does not necessarily mean the upgraded version is installed. For example, Sony’s March 16, 2026 announcement described upgraded-PSSR rollouts across a range of titles, while Ubisoft documented a specific Title Update 1.1.9 date for Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
QSSR on standard PS5
Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR), announced by Sony on October 1, 2026, is a separate, faster AI upscaling library for the standard PS5. Sony named Marvel’s Wolverine and Ghost of Yōtei as the first QSSR titles and described PSSR as the higher-tier technology for PS5 Pro. QSSR support is not evidence that a game supports PS5 Pro PSSR. See Sony’s QSSR announcement.

What PSSR support does—and does not—tell you
PSSR support means a game uses the upscaling feature; it does not guarantee a particular resolution, frame rate, or visible improvement. Sony says results vary by title and provides the option to disable Enhance PSSR Image Quality if it causes unexpected visual effects. Treat performance and image-quality claims as game-specific unless the developer publishes details for that title.
