For recurring YouTube Premium or YouTube Music payments in India, eligibility depends on the issuing bank, card network and whether that specific card supports recurring e-mandates—not simply whether it carries a Visa or Mastercard logo. Google’s support list, accessed October 3, 2026, names the bank and card combinations below, but does not guarantee that every card matching a combination will work. Check the current list and follow YouTube’s payment verification prompts before relying on a card.
If by “YouTube streaming cloud services” you mean a service that keeps a YouTube livestream running, that service’s billing is separate from YouTube Premium billing. StreamNeo, for example, says it accepts UPI and cards in India. That does not make a card eligible for a Google recurring-payment mandate.

Which Indian cards does Google list for recurring payments?
Google’s currently displayed recurring-payment support list includes these combinations. The list was accessed on October 3, 2026; Google does not show a clear revision date on the page, and says banks may add support later. Treat it as an eligibility check, not a guarantee of approval for an individual card.

“Not listed” means Google’s displayed list does not name that bank/network/card-type combination; it does not prove that every such card is unusable for every Google checkout. Google’s page is specifically about recurring payments and can change.

Why a listed card can still be declined
Recurring payments in India require an e-mandate: the cardholder authorizes automatic future charges. Google describes OTP verification as part of setting up the mandate and says automatic payments are limited to ₹15,000 per transaction without additional approval. The exact card’s issuer must support recurring e-mandates. Online-purchase activation, international-use activation or a Visa/Mastercard logo alone does not establish that support.
Google says that if a card does not support automatic payments, a new YouTube Premium or Music recurring-plan signup may prompt the user to choose a prepaid plan instead. Existing recurring members may need to verify or enter payment details again to maintain access.

Can you use RuPay, American Express or another network?
Google’s card-storage guidance says Visa and Mastercard can be saved in its RBI-compliant format following a manual payment. It says RuPay, American Express, Discover and Diners cards cannot be saved in that format. The same guidance explicitly names Google Cloud, Workspace and Ads as services that can use RuPay, but does not name YouTube among those RuPay services.
This guidance concerns Google’s saved-card/payment scope; it is not a blanket statement about every one-time checkout or every individually issued card. For recurring YouTube billing, use Google’s current mandate-support list and the payment options shown in your account rather than assuming another Google service’s card rules apply.

How to check or fix your payment method
- Open the YouTube app or go to youtube.com and follow any prompt to verify or re-enter payment details for your membership.
- Check Google’s current recurring-payment list for the exact issuing bank, network and credit/debit type. The list accessed October 3, 2026 has no displayed revision date, so confirm it again if the card is not accepted.
- Ask the bank whether that particular card supports online recurring e-mandates for the subscription. A bank may support mandates on some card types but not others.
- If you are starting a new recurring membership and the card cannot establish a mandate, check whether YouTube offers a prepaid plan for your account.
- If the card is listed but verification still fails, follow the in-app or website prompt and contact the issuer about mandate setup; re-entering the card may be necessary.
