Where you can watch Gintama legally depends on your country. US-facing listings checked on October 4, 2026, show the series on Hulu and Disney+, and Crunchyroll has an official series page. In Japan, the official franchise site names several streaming services, including Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu and U-NEXT. These are regional listings, not a worldwide guarantee; check the local service page for the exact season, episodes and language options.
Where can you watch Gintama legally?
Start by checking the catalog for your country. Streaming rights are territorial, so a listing in the United States or Japan does not prove the same service carries Gintama where you live. Crunchyroll also notes that content rights and licenses differ by country or region: its regional-access guidance.

| United States-facing listing | Hulu | The 2006 TV series listing reported three seasons and 150 episodes when checked on October 4, 2026. This listing does not establish that Hulu has every season, film or spin-off in the franchise. Hulu’s Gintama listing. |
| United States-facing page | Disney+ | The page identifies Gintama as a three-season series and displays dubbed episodes. It does not establish that the same catalog or language options are available in other countries. Disney+’s Gintama page. |
| Territory-dependent | Crunchyroll | An official series page lists Japanese and English audio, with subtitles including English, Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil), Turkish and Arabic. Availability and options may differ by territory. Crunchyroll’s Gintama page. |
| Japan | Multiple services | The official franchise site’s service list includes ABEMA, Anime Times, Anime Hodai, J:COM STREAM, TELASA, d Anime Store, DMM TV, Netflix, Bandai Channel, Prime Video, Hulu, milplus and U-NEXT, among others. The site cautions that titles vary by service; verify Gintama itself and the season you want. Official Japanese franchise streaming list. |
Hulu Japan has a separate Japanese title page for Gintama; it should not be confused with the US Hulu catalog. Hulu Japan’s Gintama page.
Is Gintama on Crunchyroll, Hulu or Disney+ in your country?
The checked Hulu and Disney+ pages are US-facing, while the Crunchyroll page lists a series but does not guarantee access in every territory. The Japanese franchise site names Japanese services, but explicitly warns that catalogs differ. Select your country on the streaming service and open the local Gintama title page before subscribing; if no local listing appears, the service’s listing elsewhere is not evidence that it is available to you.

How to check whether a service has the episodes you want
- Choose your country or region. Search the service’s local catalog rather than relying on a result for another country.
- Confirm the version. Gintama can refer to the long-running TV series, films or related spin-offs. The listings above establish series availability only; they are not a complete franchise inventory.
- Inspect season and episode coverage. Hulu’s checked US-facing listing reported 150 episodes across three seasons. Disney+ also identifies three seasons, but the inspected pages do not provide a comparable complete episode count. A season count alone does not show that two catalogs contain the same episodes.
- Check audio and subtitles on that local title page. Crunchyroll lists Japanese and English audio and several subtitle languages on its page, but regional options can differ. The checked listings do not establish language options for every season on every service worldwide.
Can you use a VPN to watch Gintama from another country?
A VPN does not change the streaming rights attached to your region. Crunchyroll says VPN access to content not licensed for the viewer’s region is unsupported. Check your service’s local catalog and terms instead of treating a title listing from another country as proof of legitimate local access.
Is there a physical alternative?
Aniplex’s official catalog documents Gintama TV-series Blu-ray box editions, including boxes for multiple seasons: Aniplex’s Gintama Blu-ray catalog. The catalog is Japanese; check the particular edition’s language, region compatibility, contents and current availability before buying. It does not establish that an edition has English audio or subtitles.
