As of October 7, 2026, Apple has announced no date for Siri AI on iPhone or iPad in the EU. Its latest support information still lists Siri AI as unavailable on iOS and iPadOS there, so there is no confirmed month or software release to plan around. Apple’s current availability page and its June announcement provide no EU iPhone or iPad launch date.
What is Siri AI’s EU availability right now?
Apple said on June 8, 2026, that Siri AI would not ship in the EU with iOS 27 or iPadOS 27. Its support page, updated September 22, continues to list the feature as unavailable in the EU on iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS. Apple has not replaced that status with a launch date. Apple’s announcement and availability details are the latest published guidance cited here.
This is a restriction on Siri AI, not a blanket ban on Apple Intelligence. Apple says other next-generation Apple Intelligence features across apps are available in the EU on supported iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 devices. Apple’s availability page describes those features separately from Siri AI.
Why hasn’t Apple given an EU release date?
Apple says EU regulators did not accept its proposed approach to bringing Siri AI to the region while allowing other virtual assistants. The company argues that obligations under the Digital Markets Act (DMA) could require third-party assistants to access users’ private data and control other apps. Apple said its proposed intermediary, called Trusted System Agent, was intended to preserve privacy and security. These are Apple’s characterizations of the regulation and its proposal, not settled legal findings. Apple’s June statement sets out its position.

The European Commission disputes Apple’s account. On June 9, 2026, Commission spokesperson Thomas Regnier told the Associated Press: “The decision not to roll out Siri AI in the EU is Apple’s and Apple’s only because absolutely nothing in the DMA prohibits Apple from introducing new products in the EU.” AP also reported that Apple said regulators rejected its proposed gradual 18-month rollout, while the Commission challenged Apple’s explanation. The two sides’ public statements leave the reason for the delay contested; they do not establish a release timetable. Associated Press coverage reports the Commission’s response.
The Commission’s March 19, 2025 guidance on DMA interoperability concerns iOS interoperability for third-party connected devices and future requests. It provides regulatory context, but it is not a ruling specifically about Siri AI. The Commission’s guidance should not be read as deciding this particular dispute.

What will EU iPhone and iPad users miss?
Apple describes Siri AI as an assistant with personal-context understanding, awareness of onscreen content, the ability to take actions across apps, broader world knowledge, and a dedicated app for conversation history. Apple also said EU iPhone and iPad users would not get several advanced capabilities announced at WWDC26, including the conversation-history app, expanded Visual Intelligence, integrated writing tools, and Siri mode in Camera. Apple’s announcement describes the features and the regional exception.
Apple said a user beta would arrive later in 2026 and that availability would expand beyond English. That beta statement is not an EU launch promise: Apple’s current support page says Siri AI is currently available in English, and neither source gives an EU iPhone or iPad date. Apple’s current support information lists the language status.

Can EU residents use Siri AI on another Apple device?
Yes. Apple’s current support information lists Siri AI for supported Macs running macOS 27 Golden Gate and Apple Vision Pro running visionOS 27 in the EU. On either platform, Apple requires the Apple Account region to be set to an EU country or region and both the device language and Siri language to be English. Apple’s current availability information says Siri AI is available in English. See Apple’s availability and language requirements and its device and software requirements.
| Platform in the EU | Current Siri AI status | Requirements or conditions |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone (iOS) | Unavailable, according to Apple’s September 22, 2026 support page. | No EU launch date announced. |
| iPad (iPadOS) | Unavailable, according to Apple’s September 22, 2026 support page. | No EU launch date announced. |
| Apple Watch (watchOS) | Unavailable in the EU. | Apple says watchOS access requires a paired iPhone with Siri AI enabled; that iPhone condition is not met for EU iOS. |
| Mac | Available on supported Macs. | macOS 27 Golden Gate; Mac with M1 or later; EU Apple Account region; device and Siri languages set to English. |
| Apple Vision Pro | Available with visionOS 27. | EU Apple Account region; device and Siri languages set to English. |
Apple’s availability page and requirements page are the sources for the platform and configuration details. Check the exact Mac model and installed software against Apple’s requirements before relying on compatibility. If you already have an eligible Mac, buying another device is unnecessary; buying a newer iPhone does not bypass the current EU iOS restriction.

Should you wait, or use a Mac?
If you want Siri AI specifically on an EU iPhone or iPad, the practical answer is to wait for an official Apple announcement: there is no substantiated launch window to base a purchase or upgrade on. Apple has not said that changing an iPhone’s region or using a VPN enables Siri AI on EU iOS, so those are not documented workarounds.
If you need the feature now and already own a supported Mac or Vision Pro, check the OS, account-region, and language conditions above. Apple has not announced that the Mac or Vision Pro availability means iPhone and iPad support is imminent.
