Why was Black Friday on November 29?
Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving in the United States. Amazon’s official explainer identifies November 29 as the 2024 date: About Amazon’s 2024 Black Friday explainer. Target’s 2024 announcement also calls Friday, November 29 Black Friday: Target’s Black Friday week and store-hours announcement.
Why did some Black Friday deals start earlier?
Retailers’ promotions can begin before the calendar date. Those early starts are sale windows, not a different date for Black Friday. The schedules below were announced for 2024 in the United States and are historical, not current offers.
