Warframe is already available on Android: Digital Extremes began a Canadian soft launch on February 11, 2026, then opened the game globally on February 18. The Canada-first rollout brought the existing cross-platform game to Android, rather than introducing a separate Android-only spin-off.
When did Warframe come to Android?
Digital Extremes announced its staged release on January 23, 2026: Canadian residents would get access first, followed by a global Android launch. The studio said the Canadian regional launch had succeeded when it announced global availability on February 18. That describes the rollout, not a measured download or adoption figure.
For the studio, based in London, Ontario, Canada was the first market in this Android release. Community Director Megan Everett said the launch moved the game “one step closer to making Warframe playable on every current-gen platform.” She also linked the expansion to playing together across platforms: “Thanks to Cross Play and Cross Save, the sky is the limit to who you play with and how you play!” Both remarks appeared in Digital Extremes’ January 23, 2026 announcement.
Can you play Warframe on an Android phone?
Yes, if the phone meets the stated technical requirements and the game is available for it in Google Play. Digital Extremes lists these minimums:

Meeting the minimums does not guarantee a particular level of performance. Digital Extremes also says Play Store availability can depend on device and region support, so check the listing on the phone you plan to use. The February 18 release covered countries and territories where Warframe was already available on other platforms. How much storage does Warframe Mobile need?
Digital Extremes’ Android FAQ estimates about 4 GB for the initial Play Store download, followed by around 10 GB of additional game data after specified onboarding and account steps—roughly 14 GB in total. This is an approximate FAQ figure, not a fixed current download size; builds and updates can change it. Leave extra free space if possible, and check the app’s current requirements before installing.

Can you use an existing Warframe account on Android?
Returning players can link an Android account to a Cross Platform Save account through the account-management process on the Warframe website. New players can follow the account setup flow in the Android app. Cross Platform Save connects eligible account progress, while Cross Play lets players join friends on other platforms; Digital Extremes announced both as part of the Android launch.
The Android FAQ described the Android game at launch as using the same content build as the public game, with updates expected to follow the other platforms’ cadence. Its specific content description was launch-era information, not a guarantee that every platform’s build remains identical today. The FAQ also said Android used the 14 languages then supported by Warframe, with the device language determining in-game localization.

What controls work on Android?
Android uses the touch interface also found in the iOS version, including multi-touch and Unified Movement. Digital Extremes says compatible Bluetooth gamepads and USB peripherals generally work, but compatibility can vary by device. The FAQ said keyboard-and-mouse support was unavailable at the time it was written.
The FAQ names DualSense, Xbox Wireless Controllers, 8BitDo, Razer Kishi and Backbone products as examples of generally compatible controller or USB options; it does not promise that every model works with every phone. Before choosing an Android game controller for Warframe, check whether it connects by Bluetooth or USB, fits your phone and case, and is supported by your specific device. A controller may suit players who find touch input awkward, but no model is established as universally compatible.

What did the Android launch include?
Digital Extremes offered the Cumulus Collection to players who logged in on Android by March 4, 2026. The launch bundle included the Cirrus Armor Bundle, Cumulus Syandana, Stratus Pistol Skin, Spektaka Color Palette and a three-day Resource Booster. That login deadline has passed, so it is launch history rather than a current offer.
Google Play describes Warframe as a free-to-play online action game and lists Digital Extremes Ltd as its developer. Its publisher-written listing describes the game’s narrative, co-op, parkour and customization; those are product claims, not an independent assessment.
