NVIDIA announced the family on April 15, 2025, setting US launch starting prices at $379 for the 8GB RTX 5060 Ti, $429 for its 16GB version, and $299 for the RTX 5060.
When did the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti launch?
March 2025 was an inaccurate forecast for the cards’ retail arrival. NVIDIA’s April 15, 2025 announcement said RTX 5060 Ti cards would be available starting April 16 and RTX 5060 cards in May. NVIDIA’s later RTX 5060 family guide identifies May 2025 as the RTX 5060’s first release.
| Model | Availability announced by NVIDIA | US launch starting price announced April 15, 2025 |
|---|---|---|
| RTX 5060 Ti 8GB | April 16, 2025 | $379 |
| RTX 5060 Ti 16GB | April 16, 2025 | $429 |
| RTX 5060 8GB | May 2025 | $299 |
These are historical US launch starting prices, not current quotes or a guarantee that every board partner’s card sold for that amount. NVIDIA says actual prices vary by manufacturer and retailer; check current retailer listings for today’s pricing.
How do the RTX 5060 models differ?
The main distinctions in NVIDIA’s published specifications are the Ti’s higher core count and clock, plus its choice of 8GB or 16GB memory. The standard RTX 5060 is specified with 8GB.

What did NVIDIA say about performance and features?
NVIDIA positioned the family for gaming and creative work, highlighting ray tracing, DLSS 4, neural rendering, and Reflex, as well as livestreaming, video editing, and 3D art applications. Those feature descriptions are the manufacturer’s, and the presence of a feature does not establish how a card performs in a particular game or workflow.

- Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- A 2.5-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis
NVIDIA’s launch material said performance doubled versus the previous generation in games using DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation. That is a company comparison tied to games using frame-generation features, not a general independent benchmark result. Likewise, NVIDIA’s later game examples and settings in its family guide are vendor-published comparisons, not independent testing.
In the April 15 announcement, NVIDIA vice president of GeForce marketing Matt Wuebbling said: “The RTX 5060 family offers gamers next-generation performance and AI-enhanced visuals starting at $299,” NVIDIA, April 15, 2025.

What has changed since the launch announcement?
NVIDIA said more than 100 games and apps supported DLSS 4 when it announced the family on April 15, 2025. In a May 19, 2025 update, the company reported that more than 125 games and apps supported DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation. These are NVIDIA-published counts from different dates and descriptions, not independently audited figures. The May update also said partner cards and prebuilt PCs were available through NVIDIA’s availability update.
NVIDIA named ASUS, Colorful, Gainward, GALAX, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, KFA2, MSI, Palit, PNY, and ZOTAC as add-in-card providers. The announcement does not establish present-day inventory or pricing for any specific model.
