When customer history is scattered across meetings, tickets, and follow-ups, a meeting-prep assistant needs more than a database lookup. In Goli Shrenee’s account of building FUEGO, the design changed when structured customer records and historical memory were given separate jobs: SQLite held recorded facts, Hindsight retrieved relevant context, and Groq generated a response from both.
What FUEGO is designed to do
FUEGO is described as a customer-history assistant for preparing before meetings, not as a replacement for a CRM. It aims to answer practical questions such as what happened in earlier meetings, what support issues arose, what the team promised, and which follow-ups remain relevant. Shrenee describes a Next.js frontend and a Python/FastAPI backend.
The underlying problem is not simply a lack of stored data. A ticket may show that an issue is open, while earlier conversations explain what the customer experienced, what the team tried, or why a follow-up matters. Keeping those facts and context distinct helps make the resulting answer useful without making it appear more certain than the record supports.
Why the design separates records, memory, and generation
| Layer | Role in the design | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| SQLite structured records | Stores customer facts and current structured states, such as whether a ticket is open. | The authoritative recorded state for fields the application tracks. |
| Hindsight memory | Retains and retrieves relevant historical context from prior interactions. | Evidence about what was discussed, attempted, or promised; it supplements a record rather than silently changing it. |
| Groq language generation | Produces a readable response using the available record and recalled context. | A synthesis of its inputs, not an independent confirmation that an event occurred or a fix succeeded. |
That division addresses a common failure mode in customer-history tools: collapsing “the ticket is open,” “we tried a fix,” and “the customer confirmed it worked” into one statement. Each has a different factual status. The system should preserve those distinctions in the answer.

Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How Hindsight’s memory operations fit
Hindsight’s documentation describes three operations: retain information in memory banks, recall relevant memories, and reflect across retrieved memories. Memory banks are described as isolated containers. In a customer-history workflow, those operations can be understood as a sequence: save interaction context, find relevant history for the current question, then synthesize the retrieved items. Hindsight documentation and its project documentation describe these product capabilities; they do not independently establish how FUEGO implemented them or how well it performs.
Retrieval is useful because a meeting-prep answer does not necessarily need every note ever captured for a customer. It needs the history relevant to the question at hand. But relevance does not make a memory a current status field: if an old note says an issue was being investigated, the application should not present that as the present ticket state unless the structured record supports it.

Keep attempted fixes separate from confirmed outcomes
Shrenee’s example makes uncertainty operational. It distinguishes a solution reported to improve dashboard response time from a monitoring change whose result had not been confirmed. A useful assistant should preserve that difference rather than promote every proposed or attempted action into a success story.
- Tried: the team attempted an action; this does not establish that it helped.
- Reported to work: the history says an improvement was reported, but the wording should retain that attribution.
- Partly worked: record the limited result rather than calling the issue resolved.
- Not confirmed: state that the outcome remains unknown and identify the follow-up needed if the record provides it.
The same discipline applies to commitments. A note that the team promised a follow-up is evidence of a promise, not evidence that the follow-up was completed. The generated answer should say what is known and leave the unresolved part unresolved.

What the account establishes—and what it does not
The DEV Community account is a description of Shrenee’s design reasoning and illustrative examples, not a controlled product evaluation. It gives no measured response-time figure, benchmark, comparison against another memory system, or study of customer outcomes. The dashboard example therefore supports a point about preserving reported status, not a quantified performance claim.
Data handling also depends on the deployed system, not merely on its model provider. Groq’s published data policy says customer data for inference requests is not retained by default, while describing exceptions, including features that require persistence and temporary reliability or abuse monitoring. It also documents Zero Data Retention controls and says enabling them disables features that depend on stored state. Those vendor statements are not a blanket guarantee about FUEGO: its complete data flow, deployment configuration, and customer-data safeguards are not described in the account. An organization evaluating a similar system should check the provider’s current policy and the configuration actually used.

When this design pattern is useful
The separation is most useful when an assistant must answer across time without turning conversation history into a substitute for operational records. It gives a system a way to bring relevant context into a meeting brief while keeping current states, historical recollections, and generated interpretation distinguishable.
