Lexar’s Costco-exclusive High-Performance Memory Storage bundle pairs a 1TB portable NVMe SSD with a 64GB USB Type-C dual-interface flash drive. It launched in 2023 at a $99.99 MSRP; that is a historical price, not a confirmed current offer. The devices are rated for different maximum read speeds, and Lexar cautions that actual performance can vary.
What’s in the Lexar Costco bundle?
The package combines two storage devices and two cables. Costco’s product listing confirms the components.
- 1TB portable NVMe SSD for higher-capacity storage.
- 64GB dual-interface flash drive with USB Type-C and USB Type-A connectors, intended to move files between devices with either port.
- Two cables: USB-C-to-C and USB-C-to-USB-A.
Lexar announced the bundle on June 22, 2023, describing it as exclusive to Costco. The release positioned the combination as a way to have both a portable SSD and a dual-connector flash drive in one package.
How fast are the drives?
1TB portable SSD
Lexar rated the SSD for up to 2,000 MB/s read and write transfer speeds, figures also shown in Costco’s listing. These are vendor-rated maximums, not independently verified benchmark results or a promise of sustained speeds. Lexar says actual performance may vary and write speeds are lower than the stated read transfer speed. See Lexar’s June 22, 2023 launch announcement and Costco’s product listing.

- High-speed Data Transfer: Lexar external SSD ES3 supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 up to 1050MB/s read and 1000MB/s write to transfer files fast for more efficient work. (Performance may be lower if not supporting USB 3.2 Gen 2 on Mac and other systems)

- Data Safety First: Lexar SSD ES3 includes Lexar DataShieldTM 256-bit AES encryption software to protect files
64GB dual drive
Lexar specifies up to 130 MB/s read transfer for the flash drive and says write speeds are lower. Its Type-A and Type-C connectors are intended to make transfers between devices using those port types more convenient. The published figure is a maximum read rating, not a write-speed claim.
Compatibility, encryption, and build
Lexar names Android, PC, and Mac compatibility for the bundle. Its launch material does not specify operating-system versions, file-system limitations, or compatibility results for particular devices, so check the requirements of the device you plan to use.

- Up to 2000MB/s read and 2000MB/s write to transfer files fast for a smooth workflow (Performance on Mac and other systems not supporting USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 may be lower)
- The drive's MagSafe-compatible design makes it easy to attach to your compatible smartphone. An additional metal ring accessory gives any device a magnetic surface to attach to
- Supports recording in Apple ProRes at 4K120FPS, and Samsung Pro Video 8K 30FPS
- Includes free access to the Lexar App to easily auto back up your media and expand the storage of your mobile device
- Rated IP65 for dust and water resistance, and is drop resistant up to 3M
Lexar says both drives include DataShield, described as 256-bit AES encryption software. The company warns that security safeguards can be circumvented and does not guarantee complete protection against access, alteration, or destruction. Encryption should not be treated as a substitute for backups or as a guarantee that files cannot be compromised.
Lexar describes the SSD as having an aluminum enclosure with a sandblasted finish. That is a manufacturer description; the cited product information does not establish durability through independent testing.

Price and availability
The bundle’s launch MSRP was $99.99 in 2023, according to Lexar. A Costco Same-Day listing showed $56.72 and out-of-stock status in a snapshot accessed September 28, 2026. Same-Day availability and pricing can vary, and that snapshot does not establish stock or price across Costco generally. Check Costco’s current listing before making a purchase.
Because the available material describes this bundle but supplies no independent performance tests or current comparison with buying separate drives, it does not establish whether the package is a better value than other storage options.
