To use Samsung Multi Control with a Galaxy phone and Windows PC, Samsung’s documented PC option is a compatible Galaxy Book—not just any Windows laptop. You’ll also need a supported Galaxy phone, the same Samsung account on both devices, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled, and Multi Control turned on in each device’s settings.
Which Windows PCs work with Multi Control?
Samsung documents Multi Control for compatible Galaxy Book PCs. Its current US connected-experience guidance lists Galaxy Book series models released in 2021 or later, with Samsung Settings version 1.5 for Intel models or version 3.3 for ARM models. Check your exact model and installed software against Samsung’s Connected Experience information before relying on compatibility.
The reviewed Samsung guidance does not establish support for generic Windows laptops from other manufacturers. If your PC is not a Galaxy Book, don’t assume that Multi Control will work simply because it runs Windows.
What does the Galaxy phone need?
The phone must be a compatible Galaxy model running a supported version of One UI. Samsung’s regional guidance gives slightly different thresholds: Samsung Business US lists Android 13 with One UI 5.1 or later, while Samsung UK lists One UI 5.1.1 or later for phones and tablets. These are not guarantees that every device on those versions is supported; eligibility can depend on the exact model, country, carrier, and software.

Check your phone model against Samsung’s local support information, including its UK support pages where applicable. Samsung does not provide one exhaustive public model list covering every region.
Account, wireless, and settings requirements
- Same Samsung account: Sign in to the same Samsung account on the Galaxy Book and phone.
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Turn on both on each device. Samsung UK specifies that the devices should also be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Multi Control enabled: Turn the feature on in the settings of both devices.
- Keyboard and mouse input: Multi Control lets you use keyboard and mouse input across devices. Samsung’s phone-and-PC instructions do not say that you must buy a new keyboard and mouse for every setup. A separate regional support article specifies Bluetooth keyboard and mouse for a phone-and-tablet configuration; that requirement should not be generalized to all phone-and-PC setups.
Samsung summarizes the account and wireless conditions on its US Connected Experience page: “Your Galaxy Book, Galaxy Tab, TV, Smart Monitor and phone must have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on, and be logged into the same Samsung account.”

How to turn on Multi Control
- Verify compatibility: Confirm the exact Galaxy Book model and Samsung Settings version, then check the phone model and One UI requirements in Samsung’s regional support information.
- Prepare both devices: Sign in to the same Samsung account and turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. For the UK guidance, connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Enable it on the Galaxy Book: Open Samsung Settings and switch on Multi Control.
- Enable it on the phone: Open Settings → Connected devices → Multi Control and switch it on. Menu wording or location can vary by device and software version.
If the phone or PC does not appear
Check the prerequisites before buying accessories or changing hardware:
- Confirm that the PC is a supported Galaxy Book model and has the required Samsung Settings version.
- Check the phone’s model and software eligibility for your region.
- Verify that both devices use the same Samsung account and have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled; if following Samsung UK guidance, confirm they are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Make sure Multi Control is enabled on both devices, then look again for the other device.
Samsung notes that feature availability can vary by device, country, carrier, and One UI version. If these checks do not resolve the issue, consult support for the exact models and software versions involved rather than assuming that all Windows PCs are supported.

Multi Control is not Phone Link
Multi Control is Samsung’s feature for using keyboard and mouse input across supported devices. Link to Windows on a phone and Microsoft Phone Link on a PC are a different integration path, used for features such as messages, photos, notifications, and calls. They do not change Multi Control’s Galaxy Book compatibility requirements.
