If you want a game where decisions can reshape relationships, the story in progress and its ending, start with Baldur’s Gate 3 for systemic role-playing, Detroit: Become Human for visible branching and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for consequences that surface later. For more unusual structures, try The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, Zero Parades: For Dead Spies or Slay the Princess. Judas itself is not available to play: Ghost Story Games had announced no release date as of 29 October 2026.

What does “like Judas” mean when Judas is not out yet?

It means looking for released games that resemble the design Ghost Story Games has described—not treating Judas as a playable game or as a known quantity with a confirmed ending count. The closest comparisons are about relationships that react to you, choices that reshape more than a closing scene, and playstyles that affect how the story unfolds.

As of 29 October 2026, Judas had no announced launch date. Ghost Story Games has named PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X|S as platforms, but has not announced a price, playtime, review score or number of endings. It is a science-fiction first-person shooter set aboard the Mayflower, a colony ship headed toward Proxima Centauri. Judas is a native of the ship, not an outsider arriving to discover it.

The premise that most clearly distinguishes its stated choice design is the relationship between Judas and the “Big 3,” three companion-rivals. Creative Director Ken Levine described how a character who attracts the player’s attention may become a friend, while neglecting one enough can turn that character into the villain. The rival can then gain powers to interfere with the player’s actions and goals. The characters are intended to react not only to combat, hacking and crafting, but also to how the player treats the other two.

That is more specific than a promise of lots of dialogue options or several endings. It suggests choices that can change the dynamics of the journey itself, but Ghost Story Games has not established whether Villainy resolves into discrete endings or a continuous relationship state. The studio has also described its approach as a dynamic, modular “narrative Lego” system. Those are design intentions, not a basis for claiming that the finished game already delivers a particular structure.

Judas began with a wish to tell a less linear story that reacts to the player, Lead Narrative Designer Drew Mitchell wrote on the PlayStation Blog in December 2025. Levine told IGN in May 2026 that the challenge was working out how to combine narrative elements dynamically at runtime. If that relationship-and-reaction model is what interests you, consider the games below by how their choices work—not just by the number attached to their endings.

Which games make choices change the most?

Baldur’s Gate 3 is the strongest overall pick for interlocking consequences across quests and companions. Detroit: Become Human is better if you want to see branches clearly, while The Witcher 3 excels at consequences that emerge much later.

1. Baldur’s Gate 3: the systemic role-playing choice

Choose Baldur’s Gate 3 if you want decisions to alter the state of an ongoing role-playing campaign, not just select an ending from a menu. The grove, the Nightsong, the Dark Urge and the Netherbrain are among the decision points EarlyGame highlighted in its August 2026 ranking of games where choices matter. Their consequences can close off quests or sour a companion’s future, making earlier decisions part of a larger chain rather than isolated moral tests.

GameSpot (2025) reported three main endings with major variations and described around 17,000 different ways a run could end. Treat the latter as GameSpot’s description of the outcome permutations, not as 17,000 wholly separate, authored campaigns or endings. A related Larian Studios statistic relayed by GameSpot says 3.87% of players beat Gortash in Wyrm’s Rock without activating any traps. It is an example of a particular way players approached one encounter, not an ending statistic.

Compared with Judas’s stated small-cast relationship focus, Baldur’s Gate 3 offers a broad role-playing system in which party relationships, quests and world state can interact. It is a strong fit if you want your decisions to create a messy, evolving campaign. It is less useful as a preview of Judas’s shooter mechanics or its specific Villainy system; those have not been demonstrated in a released game.

2. Detroit: Become Human: choices you can trace

Pick Detroit: Become Human for a cinematic story that makes its branches unusually visible. The game presents a flowchart after each chapter, and its three playable characters—Connor, Kara and Markus—can die without necessarily ending the story. GameSpot counted 85 endings in 2025. That figure signals a broad range of outcomes, but it does not mean every branch is a wholly separate story of equal length.

Its central appeal is the immediate legibility of risk: a decision or failed sequence can cost a character their life, and the plot continues with that loss. Dunia called the game a masterclass in distinct scenes and in letting failure stand. That makes it a good choice if you want visible branching and a story willing to carry the consequences of a bad outcome forward.

Unlike the Judas pitch, Detroit is not primarily about relationships turning a companion into a powerful rival who changes how the player’s goals play out. Its choices are more cinematic and branch-oriented. It is still an excellent match for the “what if I had chosen differently?” part of the search for games like Judas.

3. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt: consequences with a delay

Choose The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt if you want the world to respond to decisions without routinely announcing a moral score. GameSpot reported 36 endings in 2025, noting that some differ only slightly. The number is less important than the game’s delayed fallout: events involving the Bloody Baron’s family, Keira Metz, the Northern war and Ciri’s future can make earlier decisions matter well after the choice itself.

That delayed feedback creates a different kind of tension from Detroit’s chapter flowchart. You may not know immediately what a choice has set in motion, and the game does not always label a decision as good or bad. EarlyGame’s 2026 discussion of the game emphasizes this delayed-consequence design. It is a good fit if you prefer to act on what Geralt knows in the moment and discover the result later.

There is a useful distinction from Judas here. The Witcher’s consequences work across a large world and a long quest structure; Judas’s described focus is a small group of characters observing how you play and relate to one another. Both invite attention to fallout, but they are not the same architecture.

Which games offer unusual branching structures?

For a high count of fully authored routes, look at The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. For choice as an expression of identity, try Zero Parades or Disco Elysium; for a more experimental loop built around refusal and interpretation, try Slay the Princess.

4. The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy: a route for almost every direction

The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is the pick if “multiple endings” means a large set of routes to uncover rather than several variations on one finale. Developed by Too Kyo Games and Aniplex, it released on Switch and Windows PC on 24 April 2025. GameSpot (2025) and Polygon (2026) both report 100 full endings. Polygon notes that none is designated canon.

Its structure asks for patience before the route explosion. Polygon describes an approximately 30-hour linear first stretch, after which a New Game-style structure unlocks more dramatic branches. GameSpot says the production aimed for one “true” route plus 99 alternatives, with each intended to feel like a fully formed ending rather than a throwaway fail state. That makes the game a useful counterpoint to titles whose ending figures count small variations or game-over screens.

The trade-off is that getting to the branches takes a substantial initial commitment. It is a school-tragedy story with a large route map, not a compact way to sample every possible conclusion. If you are drawn to the idea that one decision can send the rest of a campaign in a sharply different direction, this is one of the clearest picks in the list.

5. Zero Parades: For Dead Spies: choices as a way to inhabit a character

Choose Zero Parades: For Dead Spies if you want decisions to shape who the protagonist is, not merely which outcome they receive. ZA/UM released it on Windows PC on 1 May 2026. Polygon’s October 2026 feature describes it as a spiritual successor to Disco Elysium: skill checks can open new perspectives, while delusion, fatigue and anxiety can become dangerous enough to kill the character.

Polygon particularly praised the game’s “yes, and” approach to catastrophic choices: a disastrous decision can still generate further story rather than simply closing the conversation. That is an important kind of consequence for players who want their failures to become part of the narrative. The reported Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 editions were planned for November 2026; a plan is not confirmation that those versions had already released.

Its connection to Judas is not a matching genre or cast structure. It is the premise that how you play and what you believe can shape the experience. Polygon argued that this kind of embodiment is a more interesting measure of meaningful choice than counting endings alone.

6. Disco Elysium: the detective built out of your skills

Disco Elysium is a strong choice if you want a role-playing game where the protagonist’s inner life keeps intruding on decisions. Skills interrupt conversations and shape how the detective interprets what is happening. EarlyGame’s 2026 account notes that failed checks can open scenes a successful check would skip, so failure is not automatically a dead end.

GameSpot (2025) counts three main endings and twelve game-over screens, explicitly distinguishing the latter from full endings. That difference matters: the game’s strength is not an enormous ending tally, but the range of ways a player can construct and experience its central character. It is a literary detective RPG, not an action game, and the choices tend to be about identity, interpretation and self-destruction as much as plot.

For a Judas comparison, focus on the idea that a game can respond to how you behave rather than only what you select in a dialogue wheel. In Disco Elysium, the skills that define the character become voices and pressures in the story. In Judas, Ghost Story Games says it wants to respond to combat, hacking and crafting as well as relationships; that remains a stated design goal rather than a released system to compare directly.

7. Slay the Princess: the meaning of a choice changes with the loop

Pick Slay the Princess if you like short, unsettling branches that make you reconsider the assumptions behind a choice. Released on 23 October 2023, it is available on PS4, PS5, Switch, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Refusing to enter the cabin is itself a valid branch, and the story’s routes can share endings while changing what the path to them means.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

That structure is different from a branching RPG where the main attraction is tracking a large cast or managing a world state. Here, the choice is often about what you believe the situation to be and whether you accept the role the story assigns you. Replaying is part of the design, rather than simply a way to see an alternate final scene after a long campaign.

Polygon’s 2026 list also praised Black Tabby Games’ Scarlet Hollow, but noted that it was unfinished, with five substantial chapters, and left it off its completed-game recommendations. That caveat makes Slay the Princess the more complete choice if you want this studio’s experimental branching now.

Which role-playing games make factions and long-term world states matter?

Fallout: New Vegas is the strongest faction-politics alternative, while Mass Effect Legendary Edition is better for consequences that carry across a trilogy. Both emphasize a larger political picture more than the intimate rivalry at the center of Judas’s pitch.

Fallout: New Vegas: choose who governs the Mojave

Fallout: New Vegas gives you four key faction endings: Mr House, Caesar’s Legion, the New California Republic and an independent Vegas, according to GameSpot (2025). Its epilogue slides also describe outcomes for towns and tribes, making the final decision feel like a verdict on the region rather than only on the protagonist.

It is a good fit if you want faction allegiance and political order to drive your choices. The central question is not simply which companion you trust, but what kind of power should rule the Mojave and what that decision means for its communities. GameSpot’s account supports the four faction endings and epilogue outcomes; its more expansive “millions” phrasing is not needed to understand the game’s structure.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition: consequences across a trilogy

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is the pick for players who want decisions to accumulate across three games. Choices such as the fate of the genophage and the relationship between quarians and geth contribute to the trilogy’s larger political and species-level history. The value comes from carrying a Commander Shepard and their decisions forward, rather than expecting every earlier choice to produce a completely distinct final campaign.

There is a caveat if you are specifically looking for an expansive final branch. Polygon’s 2026 discussion uses Mass Effect 3 as an example of a more restrictive model: a finale that compresses the galaxy into a handful of options. EarlyGame’s 2026 take is more interested in the fact that Shepard’s “true” ending was already reflected in who survived. So the trilogy is still a strong long-form consequence game, but not the best choice if your main priority is a huge number of sharply different final outcomes.

Which choice-driven games put survival on the line?

Until Dawn and The Quarry suit players who want to make fast decisions under pressure and see whether a cast survives. They translate consequence into immediate danger rather than a slowly changing political map or a companion relationship that develops over a long campaign.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Both games use an ensemble survival structure: decisions, reactions and mistakes can affect who is still present as the story continues. EarlyGame highlights Until Dawn, while Dunia describes The Quarry as panic-choice horror in which group survival is a central branch engine. That makes them closer to a cinematic flowchart than to a systemic role-playing campaign.

The appeal is clear, but so is the limitation: survival stakes do not necessarily mean that every choice creates an entirely different story. Dunia’s discussion of Telltale and The Walking Dead makes a useful genre-wide point: emotional pressure can feel real even when later scenes converge. Judge these games by whether you enjoy the tension of deciding in the moment, not by assuming that every branch remains separate until the end.

How should you choose a game if you care about more than its ending count?

Ask what kind of consequence you want to experience. A large number can mean many fully authored routes, many variations of a smaller number of conclusions, or a visible map of scenes that change when someone dies. These are different promises, and the best game for you depends on the kind of change you want to see.

  • For choices that change an ongoing campaign: start with Baldur’s Gate 3. Its appeal is the interaction between quests, companions and world state.
  • For immediate, legible branching: choose Detroit: Become Human. Its chapter flowcharts make it easier to track what changed and when.
  • For consequences that arrive later: try The Witcher 3 or Pentiment. EarlyGame emphasizes delayed fallout in the former; Pentiment’s accusations reshape a town across 25 years.
  • For many explicitly authored endings: choose The Hundred Line. Its 100-ending figure refers to full endings, but the major branches follow a substantial first stretch.
  • For choices that express a character: try Zero Parades or Disco Elysium. Their skill-shaped perspectives make identity part of the decision system.
  • For choices that expose what you value: play Undertale. Its pacifist, neutral and genocide routes make the player’s kill count part of the story’s meaning.
  • For a shorter experimental branch loop: try Slay the Princess, where refusing the apparent premise is one way into the story.

Other games take narrower but worthwhile approaches. Life is Strange builds a season of smaller decisions toward a major binary finale, rather than offering a vast set of endings. Road 96 uses a procedural road trip as a route toward revolution, election or collapse. Cyberpunk 2077 with Phantom Liberty splits later routes around relationships and decisions involving Panam, Johnny, Rogue, Takemura, Songbird and Reed. These can be good fits if their specific tone or setting appeals, even though they do not match Judas’s described relationship system exactly.

How were these recommendations selected?

The list prioritizes released games whose choices alter character relationships, later events, routes or endings, then groups them by the kind of consequence they deliver. It includes both established systemic role-playing games and less conventional experiments so that “like Judas” does not mean only “another famous RPG.”

Ending counts are included only where a named source reported them, and the type of count is kept clear when the source distinguishes full endings from game-over screens or notes minor variations. A high count is not treated as proof that a game’s choices are more meaningful. Judas is used as a design reference—especially its stated focus on responsive relationships and playstyle—not as a released game whose campaign or outcomes can be evaluated.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does The Hundred Line have a canon ending?

Polygon reported in 2026 that none of its 100 endings is designated canon. GameSpot described the production goal as one “true” route and 99 alternatives, with each meant to read as a complete ending.

Can you play The Witcher 3 without choosing a good or bad option?

Yes. EarlyGame’s 2026 discussion emphasizes that the game does not attach clear moral labels to its decisions. That can make choices feel uncertain because you often act without knowing exactly how the world will respond later.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Is Undertale’s route determined by dialogue choices?

Its major routes are tied to whether you spare or kill enemies, so the pattern of play—not only a final conversation—helps define the route. GameSpot’s 2025 roundup also listed a Nintendo Switch physical edition.

Does Chrono Trigger have different endings?

GameSpot (2025) counted 12 main “good” endings, or 13 when including the DS, mobile and PC exclusive ending, plus one bad ending and minor extras. The route to an ending depends on when and how the player fights Lavos.
