Check whether you had a position or an open order
A filled position represents shares you already hold. A resting order is an instruction to buy or sell that has not filled. For its April 28, 2026 exchange upgrade, Polymarket says active-market positions carry over and resolve normally, while existing open orders were cleared. If what disappeared was an unfilled order, you may need to place it again if you still want it; that is different from a missing position. See Polymarket’s upgrade guidance.
Verify the market and its governing rules
- Open the market page from your position, rather than relying on an old contract label, ticker, headline, or displayed price.
- Check the market question and the outcome associated with your shares.
- Read the full rules, including the resolution source, end date, and treatment of edge cases. Check any clarification shown on the market page as well.
Polymarket explains that the market title describes the question, but the rules determine how it is resolved. Clarifications address those rules and can clear resting orders; a clarification is not itself a payout. Consult How Are Markets Clarified? for the platform’s explanation.
Use caution with any upgrade or approval prompt
If Polymarket presents an upgrade or approval flow, reach it through Polymarket’s official site or app and read the transaction details before signing. The upgrade guidance describes one-time conversion and approval steps, but an unfamiliar prompt is not a reason to sign blindly or send funds to an address. If the transaction does not match what you expect, stop and contact official support.

Separate a display mismatch from market resolution
A position’s display or contract label is not, by itself, proof of how the market will settle. Polymarket says resolution follows the market’s predefined rules through UMA’s Optimistic Oracle. Once resolved, trading stops; winning shares receive $1 per share and losing shares become worthless. The platform’s resolution guide describes a two-hour challenge period after a proposed outcome, but that is not a guaranteed total resolution time if the outcome is challenged. Contact Polymarket if the position still looks wrong
If the position is still missing or its details conflict with the market page, contact Polymarket through its official support chat or email support@polymarket.com. The upgrade help article specifically directs users to support when something appears wrong, such as a missing balance or stuck signature.

Include the market URL, outcome, approximate trade time, and transaction hash if available. Provide an account or wallet identifier only as appropriate for the official support channel. Never share your seed phrase or private key. Support can investigate an apparent account or interface issue; the market rules and oracle process determine the outcome. Polymarket’s guidance does not promise that support can migrate, reverse, or restore a particular position.

The cited guidance concerns the April 28, 2026 exchange upgrade. It establishes Polymarket’s stated treatment of positions in active markets and existing open orders for that upgrade, but it cannot confirm the state of an individual account, whether a particular position is present on-chain, or whether the old label is only a display issue. If you mean a different upgrade or a specific contract, verify it through that market’s page and official support.
