If Gemini is about to place an agentic call and the number or planned disclosure is wrong, tap Cancel and correct the request before trying again. If an ordinary Gemini call has already connected, Google documents no way to recall it: check the call history, contact the recipient if needed, then review the relevant permissions, connected apps, and activity records. The right response depends on whether this was a regular Android call, an agentic call, a message, or a public shared chat link.
First, identify what happened
Gemini has more than one way to handle calls, and its controls and data records differ. The regular Phone integration is available through the Gemini mobile app on Android, not Gemini on the web or Google Messages. Agentic calling is a separate feature that is rolling out to eligible users and has narrower requirements. A shared chat link is a different privacy issue: anyone with the link can view it and reshare it.
- Regular Android call: Gemini uses the connected Phone app to call a contact or number.
- Agentic call: For eligible users, Gemini can handle an everyday call after you review the destination and planned disclosure.
- Shared chat link: Someone may have accessed or redistributed a public link to a Gemini conversation.
Google documents the regular Phone integration and agentic calling separately in its Android calling help and agentic calling help.
What to do about a wrong call
If an agentic call has not connected
- Tap Cancel if Gemini has not connected the call.
- Review the number and the details Gemini plans to share before starting again. Edit the task if anything is incorrect, and tap Call for me only when the confirmation is right.
If an agentic call is in progress
You can monitor the call and, where the feature offers it, tap Take over. Your phone microphone is muted by default while Gemini handles the call. These controls apply to agentic calling; do not assume they are available for a regular call initiated through the Phone integration.

If an ordinary call has connected or ended
Google’s public help does not document an undo or recall function for a connected regular call. Check your phone’s call history for the number and contact Gemini called. If the person received the call, contact them directly to correct the mistake or explain any unintended disclosure. Deleting an activity record does not retract what the recipient has already heard or received.
Reduce the chance Gemini selects the wrong recipient
- Make the request specific. Say the contact’s full name and specify mobile, work, or home. For a business, include its location or street address.
- Check the contact entry. Correct outdated numbers and resolve duplicate or similar contact names in your address book.
- Check the calling app. Google says Gemini may default to the last app it used to call that contact. Review the selected or default phone app if the wrong route is being used.
- Review permissions. The Google app needs Phone permission for the regular Gemini Phone integration. Contacts and Call Logs permissions may help with matching. Removing permissions can stop or limit calling functionality.
- Review lock-screen access. If you do not want calls or messages to be allowed while the device is locked, turn off Gemini’s option to allow calls and messages without unlocking.
These steps reduce ambiguity but cannot guarantee that Gemini will always select the intended person. The available settings and labels can vary by Android version. See Google’s Android calling instructions for the current controls.

If Gemini shared more information than intended
Check what an agentic call was going to share
Before an eligible agentic call begins, Google says Gemini shows the intended number and details it plans to share. These may include your name, email address, or phone number. Review the confirmation and cancel or edit the task if anything is inaccurate or unnecessary. Google says this feature does not share sensitive personal information such as passwords, credit-card numbers, or health information during these calls. That statement is specific to agentic calls; it should not be generalized to every Gemini call, message, or connected-app workflow.
Understand connected-app data and messaging
Google’s Gemini Apps Privacy Hub says Gemini mobile apps may process Gemini activity, if available, device calling and messaging logs, contact information, and device information and settings. It also says messages created and sent with the Gemini app are not end-to-end encrypted by Google.

If Gemini may remember information from a connected app, Google’s guidance is to remove the relevant Gemini chats and disconnect that app. Updates to information in the source app may take days to affect Gemini’s experience. Disconnecting prevents future access through that connection, but it does not erase Gemini Apps Activity. Deleting Gemini Apps Activity also does not delete information an app has already received from Gemini.
Keep agentic-call records in perspective
For agentic calls, Google says transcripts are sent to Google servers and audio recordings are not stored on Google’s servers. A copy of the transcript and audio is stored locally in Phone by Google call history. If you want to remove those records, delete Gemini activity and the local Phone record separately. Do not assume regular connected calls use the same storage arrangement unless Google’s current documentation for that feature says so.

Delete activity, disconnect apps, and report the issue
These actions address different copies of information; none guarantees removal from a recipient or another service that already received it.
- Delete Gemini activity: Open Gemini Apps Activity, find the relevant entry, and delete it. Google’s activity management instructions explain how to manage and delete activity.
- Disconnect an app to stop future access: In Gemini, open Settings & help > Connected Apps, then disconnect the relevant app. Google says, “You can disconnect or connect apps in your Connected Apps settings anytime.” Disconnecting alone does not delete Gemini Apps Activity or data already received by the app. See Use & manage Connected Apps in Gemini.
- Delete the local agentic-call record, if applicable: In Phone by Google, remove the relevant call record, transcript, or recording if you want to delete the local copy. This is separate from deleting Gemini activity.
- Contact the other holder of the information: If a person or connected service already received the details, ask them or the service to remove their copy. Google’s reviewed guidance does not promise that deleting Gemini data withdraws information already received elsewhere.
- Report the problem: Send feedback from the call summary or report the issue through Gemini. Include what happened and the feature involved.
For people who previously used Google Assistant for calls or messages, Google says up to 90 days of saved Assistant communications request history may be imported into Gemini Apps Activity. This is an import-history window, not a general retention guarantee.

If you use a work or school account, your Workspace administrator may control Gemini activity settings, so personal-account instructions may not apply.
If the exposure came from a shared Gemini chat link
A shared Gemini chat link is public to anyone who has it and can be reshared. Delete the shared link, then remove third-party posts containing it where possible. Deleting the link does not erase the chat from Gemini Apps Activity, remove third-party reposts, or delete activity from someone who continued the chat. Manage those copies separately using Google’s shared-chat instructions and activity controls.
