Before paying, confirm the exact CFI model, whether the disc drive is included, the seller’s return and warranty terms, and whether the console’s region and power details suit your plans. A Japanese PS5 Pro is listed as a digital-only console, and Sony’s Japan warranty does not by itself establish service eligibility overseas.
1. Confirm the exact PS5 Pro model and condition
Ask the retailer to confirm the CFI model on the actual console and show that same model on the invoice. Sony Store Japan lists CFI-7000B01; Sony’s Japan purchase information also identifies CFI-7100B01. The model numbers alone do not establish a performance or reliability difference.

Check whether the offer is new and sealed, open-box, or used. For a used unit, request clear photographs of the model and serial label and a list of every included accessory. Make sure the invoice describes the unit you are actually buying.
2. Check what is—and is not—in the box
The Japanese PS5 Pro package is digital-only: it does not include a disc drive. Sony says a separately sold compatible drive enables PS5 and PS4 game discs and movie discs. If you rely on physical games or disc movies, include that accessory in your budget and verify the exact drive model’s compatibility before ordering. If your games are digital, you can use the console without a drive.

Sony Store Japan’s listed package includes the console, controller, horizontal feet, HDMI cable, power cord, USB cable, printed materials, and Astro’s Playroom. The vertical stand and disc drive are separate. Confirm the contents for the particular retailer’s offer rather than assuming it matches Sony’s package.
3. Check account, game, and DLC region compatibility
Sony says disc games must be licensed for the same country or region as the account for related DLC and in-game currency to work. A PlayStation Network account’s country or region cannot be changed after creation. If you plan to buy Japanese discs or download add-ons, check the game’s licensed region against the account you will use before purchasing.
Sony’s Japan PSN terms say Japan residents use the Japanese PlayStation Store and that Sony does not guarantee operation for certain overseas services, content, or discs. Buyers outside Japan should verify account and payment options, local service support, and return terms rather than assume that console compatibility guarantees full regional support.
Do not confuse the PS5 Pro with Sony’s separately named PS5 Digital Edition Japanese-language-only product. Sony’s language and Japan-account restrictions apply to that specifically named product; they should not automatically be attributed to the PS5 Pro. Check the exact box and model designation, and ask Sony about any unresolved language or account concern.
4. Get warranty and return terms in writing
Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan’s stated warranty for a new PS5 or PS5 Pro is one year and requires proof showing the purchase date, store, and product. That Japanese warranty information does not establish that Sony will provide service in another country. If you are buying from overseas, ask Sony support for your destination country and the retailer to confirm, in writing, where warranty service is available, who handles claims, and what proof is required.
Before checkout, also confirm the retailer’s return window, conditions for opened or used products, and who pays return shipping. These terms matter especially if the console arrives damaged or does not meet the model, package, or regional requirements you confirmed.

- Vertical Stand sold seperately
5. Verify voltage, plug, and accessory fit
Sony’s CFI-71XX PS5 Pro safety guide lists 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz and a 390 W maximum rated power. The guide covers a model family, so check the rating label on the exact unit and inspect the supplied power cord. Voltage compatibility does not resolve plug shape or local electrical requirements; confirm those separately for your destination.

| Retailer listing observed in 2026 | Model | Listed price and shipping | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sony Store Japan | CFI-7000B01 | ¥137,980 including tax | Current stock, checkout terms, and package contents |

For each offer, compare the following before deciding:
- Exact CFI model and whether the unit is new, open-box, or used
- Included items, especially whether a disc drive or vertical stand is actually part of the offer
- Checkout total, shipping, stock status, and any relevant delivery restrictions
- Seller identity, return window, and written warranty coverage for your destination
- Rating-label voltage and plug suitability for where you will use the console
Have the retailer confirm the model and included items on the actual unit and invoice. For a used console, check the seller’s return terms and ask for label photographs before paying.
