PHYSINT has no confirmed final platform list. Kojima Productions says it is continuing development with Xbox as its current partner after PlayStation stepped away from the collaboration. But that change does not confirm Xbox exclusivity, and Hideo Kojima has not confirmed whether the game will come to PlayStation. No release date or window has been announced in the cited sources.
Will PHYSINT still come to PlayStation?
It is possible, but unconfirmed. Asked whether PHYSINT would still appear on PlayStation, Kojima said, “I don’t know the answer to that—that would be a question for Xbox. But I don’t know for sure,” according to VICE’s September 20, 2026 report. That answer leaves the PlayStation question open; it is not confirmation of a PlayStation version or a statement that one is impossible.
Is PHYSINT an Xbox exclusive?
No Xbox exclusivity has been announced in the available statements. Xbox is Kojima Productions’ current partner on the project, but a partnership is not by itself a confirmed consumer platform list. PlayStation Studios’ departure likewise does not establish that PHYSINT cannot later appear on PlayStation.

The studio’s current announcement describes PHYSINT as an action-espionage game and names Xbox as its partner.

What is known about the game and its development?
Genre and premise
Kojima Productions describes PHYSINT as an action-espionage game. Kojima has called it a spy game, while saying he wants new ideas and a different kind of spy action, as reported by GamesRadar+ on October 5, 2026. A detailed story synopsis and full public gameplay presentation are not included in the cited material. The genre description alone does not make PHYSINT part of the Metal Gear franchise.

Development and cast
In the September 20, 2026 Washington Post interview, Kojima said PHYSINT had a written plot and game concept with storyboards. The studio had begun making 3D models and scanning actors, while Kojima was experimenting with different engines and had not selected one.
Kojima Productions named Bill Skarsgård as the lead in its September 2026 announcement, which says costume fittings, scans, and camera tests with Skarsgård and Charlee Fraser had taken place earlier that year. The studio’s 2025 anniversary-event recap also identified Charlee Fraser, Ma Dong-Seok, and Minami Hamabe among the cast; the later announcement refers to Ma Dong-Seok by his professional name, Don Lee.
