The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is Samsung’s premium Galaxy S24-series smartphone, announced on January 18, 2024. It combines a large display, built-in S Pen, multi-camera system, titanium frame, and Samsung-described Galaxy AI features. Those are manufacturer specifications and positioning, not proof that it is better than other phones.
Where the Galaxy S24 Ultra fits
Samsung announced the Galaxy S24 Ultra alongside the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24. Within that series, the Ultra is the model Samsung equips with a built-in S Pen and the camera configuration described below. What makes the S Pen and Galaxy AI notable?
Built-in S Pen
The S Pen is housed in the phone and can be used for writing, tapping, and navigation. Samsung’s product information describes it as integrated with the device; the company also cautions that the S Pen’s water and dust resistance can diminish through normal wear. Galaxy AI features
Samsung’s launch materials present Galaxy AI as enabling uses such as translation, search, and creative editing. Feature availability can depend on factors such as language, region, and software; Samsung’s description should not be read as an independent evaluation of how well those features perform.

What does the IP68 rating mean in practice?
IP68 describes a tested level of dust and water resistance, not a guarantee that the phone is waterproof in every setting. Samsung’s stated test is limited to freshwater submersion at up to 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes, and the company advises against beach or pool use. The rating also does not remove the possibility of wear-related changes over time.
