TechTarget is the legacy name of a specialist technology publishing network that is now part of Informa TechTarget. The combined company publishes technology information and research for professionals, and sells B2B marketing services—including audience and intent data, advertising, custom content, and demand generation—to technology vendors.
What does TechTarget do?
TechTarget’s publishing network covers enterprise technology and business topics, including cybersecurity, cloud and IT infrastructure, AI, data management and analytics, application development, networking, storage, and IT strategy. Its sites and editorial brands provide information to technology and line-of-business professionals.
The business also serves technology vendors seeking to reach those professional audiences. Informa TechTarget describes its offerings in four broad areas: strategy, intent data, content, and awareness. Services include market research and advisory, digital advertising, custom content, events and video, account-based marketing, and demand generation. These are commercial services, not simply features of a free technology news site.
Is TechTarget part of Informa?
Yes. The combination of TechTarget and Informa Tech’s digital businesses was completed on December 2, 2024. Under the closing terms announced by the companies, Informa PLC contributed $350 million in cash and Informa Tech’s digital businesses for an approximately 57% stake in the combined company; former TechTarget shareholders retained approximately 43%. Informa TechTarget identifies Omdia and Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) in research and advisory; Priority Engine in intent data; and BrightTALK for webinar communities and video. Digital businesses included in the 2024 combination also include Industry Dive, InformationWeek, Light Reading, Heavy Reading, and AI Business.

The company’s brands cover a range of enterprise subjects and audiences. Its offerings vary by purpose: research and advisory help inform business and technology decisions, while intent data and campaign services are aimed at helping vendors identify and engage potential buyers. The company describes these categories, but that description alone does not independently establish how well a particular service performs.
How large is Informa TechTarget?
Company materials describe a substantial publishing and professional-audience network, but their figures should be read as company-reported claims, not independent measurements or audited current counts.

What does TechTarget mean for readers and vendors?
For readers, TechTarget is a collection of specialist technology information and research brands rather than one single publication. For vendors, Informa TechTarget is also a marketing-services business that offers ways to reach professional audiences through content, advertising, data, events, and demand-generation campaigns.
There is also a narrower privacy implication of the combination: the company’s trust-center overview says certain datasets were combined and that the companies are joint controllers for those specified records. That statement applies to those records; it should not be generalized to every dataset held across the business. Informa TechTarget privacy and security trust center
