Salesforce AgentExchange is a marketplace and distribution layer for Agentforce components and related ecosystem solutions. It is intended to help customers find and activate reusable tools for building agents, while giving partners a place to package and distribute software and expertise. Salesforce launched it in 2025 for Agentforce components; a June 2026 Salesforce Help article describes a broader marketplace spanning Salesforce apps, Slack-native solutions, and Agentforce. Those descriptions establish Salesforce’s product scope and claims—not independent proof of adoption, customer savings, or partner earnings.

What is AgentExchange?

Salesforce launched AgentExchange on March 4, 2025, as a marketplace and community for Agentforce. At launch, Salesforce described listings such as partner- and community-built actions, prompt templates, topics, and agent templates. Customers could discover, try, and buy solutions through the marketplace or from within Salesforce’s agent-building tools. Salesforce reported more than 200 initial partners and hundreds of ready-made components; these are launch figures, not current inventory counts. Salesforce’s launch announcement also said the initial components had undergone security and customer reviews.

The scope described later is wider. In an article published June 17, 2026, Salesforce Help calls AgentExchange a unified destination for traditional Salesforce applications, Slack-native solutions, and the Agentforce ecosystem. Salesforce lists more than 13,000 solutions across that combined marketplace. That figure is not a count of AI-agent listings alone, and the Help page is Salesforce’s account rather than an independent audit of inventory or marketplace performance. Salesforce Help: Learn about AgentExchange.

In short, AgentExchange is not simply another name for Agentforce. Agentforce is Salesforce’s platform for building and running agents; AgentExchange is the discovery and distribution layer Salesforce describes for finding related components and solutions.

How AgentExchange components can help build an agent

The original component model is designed to let teams reuse pieces instead of beginning every project from scratch. Salesforce described four kinds of building blocks:

  • Actions let an agent perform jobs or connect to other systems.
  • Prompt templates provide reusable instructions for an agent.
  • Topics group actions and instructions around a task, including its guardrails.
  • Agent templates combine topics and actions into a more complete starting solution.

Salesforce presented discovery from Agent Builder as a way to find relevant components in the context of creating an agent. Its 2026 Help article also describes semantic search and discovery within Agentforce Builder and Slack. These capabilities may reduce the work of locating reusable solutions, but the available Salesforce material does not measure how much time customers save on discovery, procurement, or deployment.

Examples Salesforce announced

At launch, Salesforce highlighted partner examples that illustrate the range of possible tasks. These are announced examples, not independent evaluations of product quality or results:

  • Google Cloud: grounding agents in Google Search through Vertex AI.
  • Box: letting agents work with unstructured content.
  • Docusign: handling agreement creation and signature workflows.
  • Workday: supporting employee self-service, including onboarding and benefits.

These examples show the intended role of marketplace components: connecting an agent to a particular source of information, workflow, or specialized capability.

How AgentExchange relates to AppExchange, Slack, and partner integrations

AgentExchange’s meaning depends on the date and context. At the March 2025 launch, Salesforce framed it around Agentforce components. The June 2026 Help article describes a combined marketplace that brings together traditional Salesforce applications, Slack-native solutions, and Agentforce offerings. It would be inaccurate to project that broader description back onto the launch.

Salesforce says users can discover solutions from Agentforce Builder and Slack, and describes semantic search across the marketplace. The same Help article reports 6,000+ AgentX apps connected through MCP. That is a reported connectivity figure, not the number of AgentExchange listings. Salesforce’s 2025 Agentforce 3 announcement separately described MCP servers from more than 30 partners, naming companies including AWS, Box, Cisco, Google Cloud, IBM, Notion, PayPal, Stripe, Teradata, and WRITER. That was a dated announcement; it does not mean every integration is an AgentExchange listing or is generally available today. Salesforce’s Agentforce 3 announcement.

As additional background, Salesforce’s 2024 Agentforce Partner Network announcement described third-party skills, actions, and agents that connect Agentforce to other systems and specialized use cases. A partner integration, an MCP server, and a marketplace listing are related concepts, but the announcements do not establish that they are interchangeable. How partners may use AgentExchange to reach customers

For partners, the documented opportunity is to package and distribute components such as actions, templates, agents, applications, and integrations. The broader partner ecosystem also includes implementation and integration expertise to help customers build and deploy agent solutions. Marketplace discovery and transaction tools provide a potential route to customers, but the sources do not establish actual partner revenue, listing fees, referral commissions, payout formulas, or eligibility terms for a specific partner.

Salesforce’s 2026 Help article describes an AgentExchange Go-To-Market App for transaction automation. Salesforce says it can support the transaction lifecycle from offer creation through fulfillment, including negotiated private offers, and reduce procurement and billing friction. These are platform capability claims; the cited material does not provide measured reductions in purchase time or evidence of realized partner earnings.

What customers should check before choosing a listing

A marketplace listing can make a solution easier to discover, but does not by itself prove that it is secure, effective, compatible, or economical for a particular organization. Evaluate each candidate against the implementation and operating context:

  1. Task and industry fit: Confirm that the solution addresses the specific workflow and business rules the agent must handle.
  2. Systems, data, and integration scope: Identify which systems it connects to, what data it needs, and what work is required to make those connections function in your environment.
  3. Security, permissions, and governance: Review the solution’s access requirements, data handling, security evidence, and fit with your organization’s controls. A marketplace review is not a substitute for your own approval process.
  4. Implementation and administration: Account for setup, testing, maintenance, monitoring, and the people needed to manage the solution after activation.
  5. Total cost: Assess the listing or offer alongside implementation, ongoing administration, and the Agentforce usage and licensing terms that apply to your contract.

Salesforce’s launch announcement said initial components had undergone security and customer reviews. That statement does not establish that every later listing has identical review status or that a reviewed solution meets an individual customer’s governance requirements.

What is known about Agentforce pricing?

Salesforce’s May 15, 2025 pricing announcement introduced Flex Credits at $0.10 per action and packs of 100,000 credits for $500, alongside an agreement option allowing customers to shift investment between user licenses and credits. These are historical announcement figures, not verified current prices or a complete estimate of a customer’s total cost. The June 2026 Help article describes private offers and transaction automation but does not state current Agentforce list pricing. What the available figures do—and do not—show

Salesforce’s published figures describe announcements and product scope at particular dates. They should not be treated as independent evidence of marketplace use or outcomes.

Figure What it describes
More than 200 initial partners and hundreds of ready-made components Salesforce’s March 2025 launch announcement; launch counts, not a current inventory.
More than 13 million AppExchange app installs Salesforce’s 2025 launch announcement. A separate Salesforce partner guide later cited more than 14 million installs; the figures belong to their respective source dates and should not be blended into a single current total. 13,000+ solutions Salesforce Help, June 2026, describing the combined marketplace that includes AppExchange and Slack Marketplace—not Agentforce agent components alone.
6,000+ AgentX apps connected through MCP Salesforce Help, June 2026; a reported connectivity figure, not a listing count.
More than 30 partner MCP servers Salesforce’s 2025 Agentforce 3 announcement; a dated announcement, not a current partner inventory.
