Google My Activity is the Google Account page where you can review and manage eligible activity Google has saved under your account settings. It can show activity from Google services while you’re signed in, but it is not a complete record of everything you do on every device.
What Google My Activity is—and what it is not
Google says activity from its sites, apps, and services can be saved to your account according to your settings. The saved information depends on which settings are enabled and how you use Google services. My Activity is the place to review and manage eligible account activity; it does not promise a complete log of every action on your devices. Google Account Help: Manage your Google data with My Activity; Google Privacy Policy.
What My Activity can show
Depending on your account settings and activity, Google lists examples such as topics you searched for, articles you read, videos you watched, content you uploaded, and certain recordings from Search Live or Translate. You can filter activity by date, Google product, or keyword. Google Account Help.
Which settings control the activity
My Activity brings together activity governed by distinct account controls. Google describes the main controls by the kinds of information they save:
#1 Best Overall
- Attention-grabbing design meets the latest evolution of the Google Pixel Camera on the new Google Pixel 11 Pro; Gemini Intelligence helps manage details so you can live in the moment[1]; and the phone is available in two sizes
- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan: Works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers[2]
- Stay informed without looking at your screen: When your phone is face down, Pixel HiLight gently alerts you with subtle glowing lights when your favorite contacts are calling or you’re talking with Gemini; exclusive to Google Pixel 11 Pro phones
- Magic Capture catches the moment as you live it: With just one tap, Pixel 11 Pro captures video and photos, and automatically edits, crops, and unblurs a curated collection, ready to share – and you get the memory of how it felt to be in the moment
- Two new cameras for more brilliant photos: A larger telephoto sensor captures 30% more light for clear, beautiful photos and videos, even in the dark[3]; Pixel’s longest zoom ever helps you capture details from impressive distances[4]
| Setting | What Google says it saves |
|---|---|
| Web & App Activity | Activity on Google sites and apps, including associated information such as location, to support faster searches, recommendations, and personalized experiences. |
| Timeline | Visits and routes saved to a map on each device. |
| YouTube History | Videos watched and searches on YouTube. |
These settings serve different purposes; changing one does not necessarily change the others. See the current descriptions in Google Account settings.
How to find, delete, or automatically delete activity
Open My Activity while signed in to the relevant Google Account. Google’s Help page describes filtering by date, product, or keyword, and deleting individual items, activity from a selected period, or all eligible activity. It also lists automatic deletion choices of 3, 18, or 36 months. Those intervals are setting options, not a statement about how long every kind of data is retained in all circumstances. Google says deleted activity will not be used to personalize your Google experience. Google Account Help.

Deleting My Activity does not necessarily clear browser history
Account activity and browser history are separate. Google warns that a browser might still track search history even if it is not saved to your Google Account or has been deleted from My Activity. If you want to clear both, check the browser’s own history and privacy controls as well as the account controls. Google Search Help: Find & erase your Google Search history – Computer.

Why your settings may look different
Google says it is gradually updating settings for Search services, including Search, Maps, Shopping, Flights, Hotels, Translate, and News. The labels and controls shown can therefore vary by account or rollout. Google says Web & App Activity continues to control history and personalized recommendations for Search services when the settings shown to a user do not match the Help article. Use the controls currently displayed in your own account. Google Account Help.
