What is Freely TV?
Freely is a way to watch free-to-view television from UK broadcasters through one broadband-connected experience. You can move between live TV and on-demand programmes, rather than treating them as separate services. Freely’s overview describes the service and its viewing features at About Freely.
Everyone TV launched Freely in 2024. Everyone TV is owned by the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5; those broadcasters back Freely and provide programming. STV and S4C are also named as providers of channels and on-demand content. The launch announcement described features including pausing and restarting live programmes and links to more episodes; exact features and availability can depend on the service and device.
Is Freely free?
Yes. Freely describes its service as free to use, and it is not a paid subscription service. You will still need broadband and compatible hardware: a Freely-ready TV or compatible streaming device may have an upfront cost. Do you need an aerial or satellite dish for Freely?
No. Freely is delivered over broadband, so its service says an aerial or satellite dish is not needed. The TV or streaming device must be compatible and connected to broadband or Wi-Fi. Freely does not establish a universal minimum broadband speed in the information cited here, so check the current requirements for your chosen device and connection.

Use a TV with Freely built in
Some smart TVs include Freely, which is the most direct route if you are buying a new television. Confirm the exact model is listed as compatible before purchase; a smart TV is not automatically a Freely TV.

What channels and programmes are on Freely?
Freely combines live channels and on-demand programmes from its participating broadcasters. Not every channel or programme is necessarily available in every setup.
