Yes. Apple currently labels the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix “Watch Free on Apple TV” for viewers in the US. Coverage is listed to begin at 1:50 a.m. ET on Sunday, October 4, with the race scheduled for 3:00 a.m. ET. Apple’s event listing and US schedule confirm the details.
What race is on Apple TV tonight?
It is the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, held at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. Although the venue is in Malaysia, this is the Bahrain Grand Prix; Formula One Management and the FIA confirm the event and location for October 2–4, 2026. The FIA event confirmation and Apple’s schedule use the same event description.
For viewers in the Eastern time zone, Apple lists coverage from 1:50 a.m. ET and the race start at 3:00 a.m. ET on Sunday, October 4. The overnight session may feel like Saturday night, but the listed date is Sunday.
Does the free listing mean every F1 race is free?
No. The free label applies to this event, not to the entire 2026 season. Apple says every practice session and selected race weekends are available free, while complete coverage of every Grand Prix, qualifying session, and Sprint is part of an Apple TV subscription. Apple’s F1 overview explains the broader coverage.
#1 Best Overall
- 4K High Dynamic Range (Dolby Vision and HDR10) for stunning picture quality
- Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 surround sound
- A10X Fusion chip for ultra-fast graphics and performance
- Voice search by asking the Siri Remote
Apple’s US Apple TV subscribers also receive F1 TV Premium at no additional cost. That is a subscriber benefit; it does not change the event-specific free listing into a claim that full-season access is free for everyone.
How to watch the race
Open Apple TV on a supported device or watch at tv.apple.com. Apple lists support across Apple devices, Android, smart TVs, streaming devices, and gaming consoles; an Apple TV 4K is not required.

Apple identifies Apple TV 4K, iPad, and Vision Pro as devices that support Multiview, which can show up to four feeds at once. That is an optional way to follow multiple feeds, not a requirement to watch the main broadcast. Apple’s viewing information also says full replays, highlights, interviews, and press conferences are available after races.

Not for this race while Apple’s event listing continues to say “Watch Free on Apple TV.” The current F1 room also advertises a seven-day Apple TV trial followed by $14.99 per month, but that offer is for the broader subscription and is not needed to access this specifically free event. Check Apple’s current offer and listing before watching, since both event availability and subscription pricing can change.

What about watching on Tubi?
Apple has announced free Tubi creator-hosted altcasts for multiple 2026 races, beginning with Miami. The available announcement does not confirm an altcast for the October 4 Bahrain Grand Prix, so do not count on Tubi for this event unless its current schedule specifically lists it. Apple’s Tubi announcement describes the partnership.
