Warhammer Survivors is an upcoming standalone survivors-style game set in Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Made in partnership by Auroch Digital and poncle, the studio behind Vampire Survivors, it puts familiar horde-fighting and weapon progression into Warhammer’s grimdark worlds. Its announced release date is November 10, 2026; an updated demo is available on Steam and Xbox for PC.
What is Warhammer Survivors?
Warhammer Survivors is a standalone game built around the survivors-like format: choose a character, battle waves of enemies, collect experience, and gain weapons and power-ups. The project brings together Auroch Digital and poncle, the developer of Vampire Survivors, with settings drawn from both Warhammer 40,000 and Age of Sigmar. Warhammer Community describes it as a combination of the genre’s fast, moreish gameplay and Warhammer’s grim, dark settings in its 2025 announcement.
That premise explains the “grimdark but not grim” framing: the setting is dark, while the game uses a survivors-like action format. The announced information establishes the setting and broad progression loop, but not how the finished game’s humor, tone, difficulty, or moment-to-moment feel will land. It is an official collaboration in the genre, not a stated direct sequel to Vampire Survivors.
When does Warhammer Survivors come out?
Warhammer Community’s October 6, 2026 update gives November 10, 2026 as the launch date. Release dates can change, so consult the official launch and demo update for the latest announcement.

Can you play the Warhammer Survivors demo?
An updated demo is available on Steam and Xbox for PC. The announced demo characters are the Legend of Catachan and Lyssa Revenya. Availability and demo contents are described in the October 6 Warhammer Community update; check the relevant storefront for access in your region.

Nintendo also has an official Switch 2 product listing. The October 6 update says pre-orders are available on select platforms: it names PlayStation 5 pre-orders and says Xbox Series X|S pre-orders begin October 27, 2026. It does not establish preorder availability for every listed platform.
What characters and weapons have been announced?
Warhammer Community says the game will feature more than 40 playable characters and more than 70 weapons. These are publisher-announced content counts, not independently verified final-release totals. The October 6 update names the Legend of Catachan and Lyssa Revenya as demo characters. How much will Warhammer Survivors cost?
Auroch Digital’s FAQ says the price has not yet been announced. The October 6 update confirms that some pre-orders are available or forthcoming, but it does not provide a price. Check the relevant platform storefront for current pricing and regional availability.

The announced ingredients are clear: a familiar survivors-style combat loop, Warhammer characters and settings, a PC demo, and a broad set of planned platforms. What remains unestablished is how well the finished game balances its dark setting with a lighter arcade-action presentation, how its progression feels in play, and whether the announced content counts reflect the final release. Those are questions for hands-on play rather than assumptions to draw from the premise alone.
