vivo V40e vs vivo V50e: Specs Comparison and India Price Difference

The vivo V50e lists newer software, IP68/IP69 ratings, a slightly larger battery and higher-wattage charging than the V40e. Both India models list the MediaTek Dimensity 7300, matching headline display and rear-camera specifications, and an 8GB/256GB configuration. vivo India lists that storage option at ₹35,999 for each phone; its observed V40e 128GB listing is ₹33,999, while a V50e 128GB price could not be established.

What is different between the V40e and V50e?

Software and listed protection

The V50e lists Android 15 with Funtouch OS 15, compared with Android 14 and Funtouch OS 14 on the V40e. It also explicitly lists IP68 and IP69 ratings. The cited V40e specification page shows no ingress-protection rating; that omission does not establish whether the phone has another rating or no protection.

Battery capacity and charging

vivo lists a typical 5600mAh battery and 90W charging for the V50e, versus 5500mAh and 80W for the V40e. The 100mAh capacity difference does not establish a battery-life advantage, and the wattage ratings do not establish a particular charging time.

Display details

Both pages list a 6.77-inch AMOLED panel with 2392 × 1080 resolution. The V40e page specifies 120Hz, but the captured V50e page material does not establish its refresh rate, so a matching refresh rate should not be assumed from these sources.

Camera hardware

Both list a 50MP Sony IMX882 OIS main rear camera and an 8MP secondary wide/ultrawide camera. The V40e page further identifies its front camera as 50MP with autofocus and an ultra-wide-angle lens; the V50e page lists 50MP without those additional details. Similar headline megapixel and lens specifications do not demonstrate equal image quality or processing.

What is the vivo V40e vs V50e price difference in India?

In the vivo India Store listings observed in 2026, both 8GB/256GB models were listed at ₹35,999, so there was no listed-price difference for that matching configuration. The V40e 8GB/128GB was listed at ₹33,999. A corresponding V50e 8GB/128GB store price was not established, so the available listings do not support a like-for-like 128GB price comparison. These are time-sensitive listed prices, not guaranteed checkout prices or independently verified street prices.

Which phone should you choose?

Choose the V50e if its listed updates matter most

The V50e is the clearer fit if you want the newer software versions, explicitly listed IP68/IP69 ratings, or its higher stated battery capacity and charging power. Those specifications alone do not predict real-world battery life or charging duration.

Consider the V40e for a listed 128GB price or a specified 120Hz display

The V40e has a vivo India Store listing for 8GB/128GB at ₹33,999, and its specification page explicitly states a 120Hz display. The V50e’s comparable 128GB price and refresh rate are not established by the cited material, so check the current listing and full specifications before deciding on those points.

Do not choose based on an assumed speed or camera winner

Both India specification pages name the Dimensity 7300, and their headline rear-camera hardware is similar. No benchmark or camera test in the cited material establishes which phone performs faster or takes better photos; the shared processor name also does not guarantee identical performance under every condition.
