Vitamix’s first juicer is the MaxExtract Cold Press Juicer, a slow-masticating model the company announced on October 5, 2026. Vitamix set its U.S. MSRP at $499.95 and said sales would begin October 15 through Vitamix.com and select retailers, including Amazon. That is an announced launch date, not confirmation that the juicer is currently in stock.
CNET senior editor Anna Gragert’s first-look account describes straightforward assembly, smooth-tasting juice and easy cleanup. Those are her impressions from making several batches, not results from an independent or controlled test.
What is Vitamix’s first juicer?
The MaxExtract Cold Press Juicer marks Vitamix’s entry into juicing. In its October 5, 2026 announcement, the company described it as a slow-masticating cold-press juicer designed to extract juice from produce. Vitamix says its 5.3-inch hopper can accommodate whole-recipe loading, and the appliance has dial controls with on, off and reverse positions.
The unit has a glass front and comes with two strainer options: a fine-mesh strainer for less pulp and an easy-clean strainer intended to leave more pulp while simplifying cleanup. Vitamix also lists juice and pulp containers and a cleaning brush among the included accessories. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independent assessments of performance.

Vitamix vice president of sales and marketing Laura Ostenkamp said the product brings the company’s whole-foods philosophy to cold-press juicing, with an experience designed for everyday use. That statement describes the company’s positioning; it does not establish how the juicer performs in daily use.
How much does it cost, and when is it available?
Vitamix announced an MSRP of $499.95 USD and $689.95 CAD. The company said availability would begin October 15, 2026, through Vitamix.com and select retailers, including Amazon. Because October 15 is the announced start date, those details do not confirm current retailer inventory or pricing.

The launch announcement also states that the juicer comes with a five-year limited warranty. Review the warranty terms from Vitamix for coverage details and exclusions before purchase.
What does the first-look report say about using it?
In the accessible repost of CNET senior editor Anna Gragert’s first-look article, she says assembly took less time and effort than expected. She reports cutting produce into pieces of roughly two inches before loading it. The front dial includes on, off and reverse positions, and she says she made several batches without experiencing a clog.

Gragert describes the juice as smooth and fresh-tasting and says cleanup was easy. These are her reported impressions, not a side-by-side test or a guarantee of results with every ingredient, recipe or juicing routine.
Included pieces reported by CNET
The first-look report lists a pusher, cleaning brush, juice and pulp containers, and both strainers. It also says the juice container has measurement markings and a handle. Vitamix’s announcement confirms the containers, strainers and brush, but does not enumerate the pusher or those container details.

Is the MaxExtract easy to clean?
Vitamix says the removable parts are safe for both the top and bottom racks of a dishwasher. It includes an easy-clean strainer as an alternative to the fine-mesh strainer. Gragert’s first-look report says cleanup was easy in her use, but neither statement supplies a controlled comparison with other juicers or a guarantee that every ingredient will clean up equally easily.

The reposted first-look article says the manual lists dimensions of 17.7 × 8.5 × 7.7 inches and a weight of 8.14 pounds. Those specifications are attributed to the manual by Gragert; they were not independently checked against the manual in the available account. The article says the hopper and chamber can be removed from the base to reduce the height for storage.

Measure the counter footprint and the available clearance beneath your cabinets, including room to load produce and remove parts. If you plan to store the juicer assembled, check the listed height against your cabinet clearance; if not, consider whether you have space for the detached components.
How does it compare with other juicers?
Gragert’s first-look report compares the MaxExtract with a Nama J2, which it describes as costing $599 and being wider, deeper and heavier. It also says the Hamilton Beach Easy Clean is shorter but wider and deeper. These are comparisons made in that article, not independently verified current specifications or a controlled performance test.
For a purchase decision, compare the factors that affect your own routine rather than treating size or price as a proxy for juice quality:
- Price: Vitamix’s announced MSRP is $499.95 USD; the repost reported $599 for the Nama J2 at the time, but that figure is not confirmed as current.
- Footprint and cabinet clearance: Check verified current dimensions against your counter and storage space; the comparisons above are attributed to the first-look report.
- Prep and operation: Gragert reports cutting produce into roughly two-inch pieces. Her account is not a universal estimate of prep time or effort.
- Cleanup and pulp: Consider whether a fine-mesh result or the more pulp-forward easy-clean option better suits you, as well as the work involved in cleaning your typical ingredients.
- Warranty: Vitamix announced a five-year limited warranty; compare complete warranty terms, not just duration.
The available accounts do not establish how the MaxExtract performs against the Nama J2 or Hamilton Beach model in a controlled, side-by-side test.
