Its plans also include unlimited mobile hotspot data, but each tier has an advertised hotspot speed ceiling. Premium data is a separate network-treatment benefit with terms that vary by network and plan.
What does unlimited data mean?
Visible says its Visible, Visible+ and Visible+ Pro plans include unlimited high-speed data access for compatible 4G LTE and 5G devices, with no overage charges. “Unlimited” means you are not charged by the gigabyte or cut off after a stated data allowance. It does not mean speeds are guaranteed or that your traffic always receives the same network priority.
Visible’s legal disclosures say data may be temporarily slower than other traffic during congestion. That qualification applies to the meaning of unlimited: you can continue using data, while performance can vary with network conditions. See Visible’s legal disclosures.
What is premium data?
Premium data describes how network traffic is treated, rather than simply how large a data allowance is. Visible’s Visible+ materials describe premium data as data that avoids slowdowns due to prioritization, subject to the plan’s network and traffic terms.

Visible+ on 5G Ultra Wideband
Visible+ describes unlimited premium data on 5G Ultra Wideband. This is a network-specific benefit; it is not a promise that every location or compatible device will connect to Ultra Wideband.
Visible+ on LTE and other 5G
When 5G Ultra Wideband is unavailable, Visible+ includes 50 GB per month of premium data on 5G/4G LTE. After that monthly amount, Visible says data may be temporarily slower than other traffic during congestion. The 50 GB figure is a premium-data threshold on those networks, not a cap on total data use. Details are in the Visible+ plan terms.

Does Visible hotspot have a speed limit?
Yes. Visible lists unlimited mobile hotspot data but sets a different advertised speed ceiling for each plan. “Up to” is a ceiling, not a typical-speed estimate or guarantee. Actual speeds and availability can vary with device, usage, location and network conditions; multiple connected devices can also reduce performance.
| Plan | Data allowance and overage policy | Premium-data treatment | Mobile hotspot | Video quality and device or coverage qualifications |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Visible | Unlimited data; no overage charges, according to Visible’s legal disclosures. | Visible’s plan materials do not describe the Visible+ premium-data provisions for this tier; Visible says data may be temporarily slower than other traffic during congestion. | Unlimited hotspot data; up to 5 Mbps. | Visible’s plan and legal disclosures contain video-quality and compatible-device/coverage terms; check the current disclosures for the applicable wording and qualifications. |
| Visible+ | Unlimited data; no overage charges, according to Visible’s legal disclosures. | Unlimited premium data on 5G Ultra Wideband; 50 GB per month of premium data on LTE/5G when Ultra Wideband is unavailable. After 50 GB, data may be temporarily slower than other traffic during congestion. | Unlimited hotspot data; up to 10 Mbps. | Video quality and service availability are subject to Visible’s current plan disclosures and compatible-device and coverage terms. |
| Visible+ Pro | Unlimited data; no overage charges, according to Visible’s legal disclosures. | Visible’s reviewed comparison and legal disclosures do not state a separate premium-data threshold for this tier. Congestion and network terms apply as described in Visible’s disclosures. | Unlimited hotspot data; up to 15 Mbps. | Video quality and service availability are subject to Visible’s current plan disclosures and compatible-device and coverage terms. |
Visible’s official plan-feature comparison lists the hotspot caps. The plan lineup, Visible plan page and legal disclosures provide the plan and qualification details. Because plan terms can change, check those disclosures for current video-quality wording and device or coverage qualifications.

What’s the difference between unlimited data and premium data?
- Unlimited data addresses the amount you can use and whether excess use triggers overage charges. Visible advertises unlimited data without overage charges on all three plans.
- Premium data addresses network treatment. Visible+ specifies premium treatment on Ultra Wideband and a 50 GB monthly premium-data amount on LTE/5G when Ultra Wideband is unavailable.
- Hotspot shares the phone’s mobile data connection with devices such as tablets and laptops. Its data amount can be unlimited while its speed is capped by plan.
These terms describe different things, so one does not replace another: the unlimited allowance does not remove hotspot speed ceilings, and the hotspot ceiling does not define the phone’s overall data allowance.
