Which teams qualified for the VALORANT Champions 2026 playoffs?
Two teams from each of the four groups advanced. Group winners and runners-up, as listed on VLR.gg’s event bracket, are:

How did each region fare?
The eight qualifiers break down to four from the Americas, three from Pacific, one from EMEA and none from China, according to Dot Esports’ October 5 report.
- Americas: 4. 100 Thieves, NRG, G2 Esports and LOUD all advanced, meaning the region has half the playoff field.
- Pacific: 3. Paper Rex, Nongshim RedForce and T1 qualified.
- EMEA: 1. Team Vitality is the region’s sole playoff team.
- China: 0. JDG, XLG, TYLOO and EDward Gaming did not advance; Dot Esports reported that no Chinese team won a series.
“Americas and Pacific dominate” describes the combined outcome, not an even split: the Americas have one more representative than Pacific.

How does the Champions Shanghai playoff format work?
Riot’s official event overview says 16 teams are divided into four GSL groups. Group matches are best-of-three, and the top two teams in each group advance to an eight-team double-elimination playoff bracket.
Playoff matches are best-of-three except the lower final and grand final, which are best-of-five. In a double-elimination bracket, a team is not eliminated by its first loss; it must lose twice to be knocked out.

Is the 2026 world champion known yet?
No. Champions Shanghai is the event that concludes the 2026 VCT season and determines the world champion, as described by Riot Games Competitive Operations. The tournament is still in progress, so the playoff qualifiers and opening matchups do not establish a champion.
