Yes—UNIGINE Valley supports DirectX 11 on Windows, including its documented Extreme and Extreme HD presets. Valley is also available for macOS and Linux, but those same presets use OpenGL on those platforms, not DirectX 11. UNIGINE lists Valley as a version 1.0 benchmark from 2013; its published system requirements are legacy specifications, not a guarantee that it will work with every current driver or operating-system release.
Does UNIGINE Valley support DirectX 11?
Yes. UNIGINE’s advanced launch-options manual lists DirectX 11, DirectX 9 and OpenGL as available APIs. The standard manual specifies DirectX 11 for the Extreme and Extreme HD presets on Windows, and OpenGL for those presets on Mac and Linux. So Valley is multi-platform, but its documented DirectX 11 rendering applies to Windows—not every platform.
The manual defines the Extreme preset as ultra quality at 1600×900 in a window, with 8× anti-aliasing. Extreme HD uses ultra quality at 1920×1080 fullscreen, also with 8× anti-aliasing. These describe preset settings, not expected frame rates on contemporary hardware. See UNIGINE’s advanced manual and standard manual.

Can you run Valley on Windows, Mac or Linux?
UNIGINE provides separate Windows, Mac and Linux downloads on the Valley product page. The vendor lists Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 and 11; Mac OS X 10.8 or later; and Linux, with proprietary video drivers required. These are the vendor’s published platform claims. The manuals and benchmark date to 2013, so the listing should not be treated as confirmation of compatibility with every modern Linux distribution, graphics driver, Mac, or macOS release.
#1 Best Overall
The product page lists download sizes of 342 MB for Windows, 382 MB for Mac and 394 MB for Linux. File sizes and availability can change.
What are Valley Benchmark’s system requirements?
UNIGINE’s version 1.0 product listing gives these legacy minimum requirements:
Rank #2
| Requirement | Published minimum |
|---|---|
| Graphics hardware | ATI Radeon HD 4xxx or newer; Intel HD 3000 or newer; NVIDIA GeForce 8xxx or newer |
| Video memory | 512 MB |
| Disk space | 1.5 GB |
| Operating system | Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 or 11; Mac OS X 10.8 or later; Linux with proprietary video drivers |
These are the requirements UNIGINE publishes for a benchmark identified as a 2013 release. They are not recommendations for buying a graphics card today, nor do they guarantee that a listed operating system and GPU combination will work with current drivers.
What Valley measures—and how to use it as a GPU stress test
UNIGINE describes Valley as an extreme performance and stability test for PC hardware, including graphics cards, power supplies and cooling systems. It also includes an interactive fly-by or hike-through mode. The company says its benchmarks can be used to assess hardware stability under stressful conditions and for overclocking; that describes the intended use, not a guarantee that a particular run proves a system is stable.

- DESKTOP SPEAKERS - D200 computer speakers can reach 260W RMS dual-channel, which fully meets the desktop and various audio needs, also it can support STAND placement. Easy to set up for a personalized experience.
- BLUETOOTH WIRELESS SPEAKERS - Bluetooth 5.0 aptX HD enables more detailed sound, faster transmission and lower latency. Plus, the included remote control makes it easy to switch input sources, adjust volume, input, power and mute.
- Choose a platform download. Use the Windows, Mac or Linux download on the official Valley page, and check the operating-system and driver caveats above.
- Select the API and preset in the launcher. On Windows, choose a DirectX 11 preset if that is the renderer you want to test. The documented Extreme and Extreme HD presets use OpenGL on Mac and Linux.
- Set the workload you intend to compare. Extreme uses 1600×900 windowed output; Extreme HD uses 1920×1080 fullscreen. Both are set to ultra quality and 8× anti-aliasing. Keep the API, preset and other settings consistent when comparing runs.
- Run the benchmark and watch the readouts. The manual says the interface reports current FPS, elapsed time, frame count, minimum and maximum FPS, and cinematic-scene progress. The product page also lists GPU temperature and clock monitoring.
- Interpret the result in context. A benchmark run reflects the selected parameters and the system’s conditions during that run. The manual notes that enabling VSync resets a preset to Custom, so check the active settings before comparing results.
Valley is built on UNIGINE 1 Engine. UNIGINE lists procedural content, dynamic weather, stereo 3D and multi-monitor support, as well as an interactive exploration mode. The product page describes its terrain as 64,000,000 square meters.
