The UNA Watch is a modular GPS sports watch whose maker says its battery and display are replaceable and that every component is accessible with a standard tool. Its feature list includes dual-frequency GPS, continuous heart-rate monitoring and up to 20 hours of GPS tracking, but those are manufacturer specifications—not proof of real-world accuracy or endurance. Its current product page lists IPX5 water resistance, which does not make it a swim watch.
What is the UNA Watch?
UNA Watch is a GPS sports smartwatch built around a modular design. UNA describes “Refresh over replace” as its design philosophy and says the watch’s components can be accessed with a standard tool. The maker specifically identifies the battery and display as replaceable parts. How long does the battery last?
UNA advertises up to 10 days of everyday use and up to 20 hours of GPS tracking. “Up to” figures depend on usage and settings; the cited information does not specify a test configuration for those figures. An October 3, 2026 review says the available evidence does not establish controlled, independent battery-endurance results, so the advertised durations should not be treated as independently confirmed real-world expectations. How accurate are its GPS and heart-rate readings?
The product page lists dual-frequency GPS and always-on heart-rate monitoring, but those specifications do not show how accurately the watch records routes or heart rate in practice. The October 3, 2026 review found no controlled, independent results establishing route accuracy or heart-rate accuracy. Can you swim or shower with it?
The current product page lists an IPX5 water-resistance rating and positions the watch for sweat, rain, splashes and everyday showers. It is not presented as suitable for swimming or full submersion. The Kickstarter FAQ, last updated March 6, 2025, also explicitly advised against swimming or fully submerging the watch; its earlier note that no formal rating was available describes the status at that time, not the current product page. What do the warranty and subscription terms say?
The March 6, 2025 Kickstarter FAQ said there would be no subscription for the watch or its mobile application. It also described a 24-month warranty for watches and battery accessories, and six months for non-battery accessories. Who should consider the UNA Watch?
It may suit someone who values access to replaceable components and wants a GPS sports watch with a stated set of running, cycling, hiking and general workout modes. A buyer whose decision depends on proven GPS or heart-rate accuracy, tested battery life, swimming suitability, repair prices or long-term parts access should look for evidence on those specific points before purchasing; the cited material does not establish them.
